CNA Active Status?
This may seem like a stupid question, but I've been told two different things. The LPN program at my school requires us to be active on the nurse aid state registry...now does mean the certification be valid throughout the program...or I must be working as a CNA throughout the program? Forgive me, I just started CNA classes and my prerequisites for practical nursing.

Feeling like I wasted a bunch of money on a phlebotomy course
Don't be depressed...learning and training is NEVER a waste! Be proud of your accomplishments, no matter what they are. I took phlebotomy as well...paid 550 for it...and am currently working on my CNA certification...taking prerequisites as well..for practical nursing....either way every class/training helps and will help you be a better whatever in the future...I've found out landing a job as a phlebotomist is difficult...but not impossible...from what ive heard drug screening places are more likely to train entry level positions ...but sign up to volunteer at blood banks...red cross maybe? Go to an employement agency...don't give up...volunteering will help you get the experience you need to better your chances of finding a job

LPN over RN
I'm just wondering why some of you chose the LPN route rather than the RN? I've been having a hard time deciding on one 100% but leaning more towards LPN. I start as a new CNA in January and will be taking some of my pre-requisites for nursing then also...currently doing phlebotomy certification...I have some time to make a decision I think...I'm 22 though and it took me this long to choose nursing Lol...but why LPN for some of you and not RN?

Advice?
I'm a newbie at 22, about to start at a nursing home for my CNA certification. A little embarrassed it took me this long to decide what to do with my life...does it really matter what age you go back to school? My goal is to be a LPN and I'm starting school soon and of course CNA is required. I'll be finished with my phlebotomy certification before I start my CNA training but will have to somehow juggle working and taking classes for LPN. Just wondering what to expect as a CNA and yes, I'll admit that I'm fishing for a but of encouragement...because I know its not going to be easy...and being 22 just now getting started, has me worried....
