  1. Thanks for your input! I have been a camp nurse for 6 weeks now and fortunately, the only emergencies were a broken wrist and laceration needing 6 stitches. I am the only nurse but have an amazing camp director! COVID has also made it possible to only have 50 campers at a time (morning separate from afternoon) instead of 270. Now I'm off to the Operating Room. Thanks again!

Hi all! New grad here considering accepting a Summer camp position for only four weeks with 2 sessions in a day of about 30-50 campers at a time and 25 staff (Grades 1-7) and would like any advice you may have. This is the first year they will have a camp nurse due to COVID (EMT’s only prior to COVID) Considering I am a new grad, do you feel it is safe to be the only RN at the camp? Please leave any suggestions/feedback for a newbie! ?
  3. I got an 82 or 83 and got into the WCC nursing program. You definitely have a chance with a score above 80! I would recommend going straight to the RN program :)
  4. I will list everything I used to study in order of importance to me. 1.) Crash course Anatomy and Physiology videos on youtube - watch all 47 videos, twice or three times if you have to, like me- they're really fun to watch :) 2.) ATI Teas Pocket Prep app for iPhone or Android. It's very cheap. Do as many questions as possible! 3.) Purchase the two practice exams on atitesting.com for like $90 - they are REALLY helpful and very similar to the actual exam 4.) ATI TEAS Study manual, McGraw-Hill Education TEAS practice tests, and last but not least ATI TEAS Secrets Study Guide Good luck!
  5. For those who did not get in - I know it is difficult to see that this is not the end right now and that you could always try again or there might be a different option for you. I have been there and knows what that kind of disappointment feels like but please remain hopeful and do not give up on your dreams. On another note, did anyone try to register for Dosage & Calc for the Summer? It's not letting me register for some reason.
  6. Oh okay. It does sounds like a good idea to get it out of the way. Is anyone planning on taking it in the Summer? Seems to be an online course.
  7. Does anyone know if we must take Dosage and Calculations in the summer prior to starting the program?
  8. Check your e-mails everyone!!! Just received my acceptance letter.
  9. I'm hoping we'll hear back by next Friday!!! I can't take this suspense any longer.
  10. Wow, that's crazy but I'm sure we're all ready for it! And 30 hours is still quite a bit. I was planning on keeping it under 20 hours/week. I also work about 50-60 hours/week now but definitely cannot do that while in nursing school. Hopefully, we will hear back within the next 2 weeks or so.
  11. Also getting SUPER antsy here!!! Ahhh! Does anyone plan on working part time/full time if accepted? They need to let us know because I need to make life plans here :)
  12. Yes, it is the Kaplan for Cochran. Fall usually has more applicants than Spring, correct? Worst section for me was English. I shouldn't have underestimated it 😂
  13. I got an 82.7 but honestly not sure if that will get me into the program. It was my first time taking the TEAS. I was accepted to Cochran in the past with a 77 but chose not to attend. I've heard only 40 are chosen out of nearly 500 at WCC. Anyone know if that's true?
  14. Hi! I just took mine today! How did you do ?
