Job Offers
That's interesting! I had another interview at the same hospital but different unit the next day (yesterday) and that manager also told me she would reach out to HR and that I should hear from them later this week maybe, so I feel a little better. The first manager from monday said something about background checks and all that so I'm assuming the reference check is mixed in with that as well. Can you tell me more about that? Did they email you telling you they were doing a reference check or what?

Job Offers
I'm being super impatient, I know, but I just had a phone interview with the nurse manager of a unit and she told me she would go ahead and reach out to HR and have them make an offer so that I'll have a job! It's been a little over an hour (impatient lol)... is this a call I should expect today or within a couple days orrrr? I'm just REALLY EXCITED!!

CHI St. Lukes 2017
Hi! I realize this post is over a year old, but I've actually got a "6 panel interview" coming up with St. Luke's and I'm assuming it'll be like this. I was wondering if you had any advice on what I should expect? Interviews are terrifying to me and it's really hard for me to think of quick answers when I don't know what will be asked!! :/ I guess I just want to know if they throw any curve balls in there or were all the questions pretty much expected? Any advice is appreciated!!

Getting a Nurse Recruiters Attention
Thanks, I realize this. I try to make it very clear (whether over the phone or in my cover letter) that I plan to relocate permanently so they won't think that I will want to leave after a few years.

Getting a Nurse Recruiters Attention
Many hospitals will have already filled their positions by the time I will take my NCLEX. That's why I'm trying to land a job before I graduate :/

Getting a Nurse Recruiters Attention
Thanks for the advice, Sour lemon! All of the places I've applied to, this one included, are specifically for nursing students graduating in May, and many of them have application deadlines and hiring timelines (just not this one), so I was assuming the recruiters/hiring managers would know that those of us applying do not yet have our license or much experience.

Getting a Nurse Recruiters Attention
I am graduating this May and have been applying to jobs constantly. I had one interview with a nurse manager on an ICU floor, but it was over skype (I live in Texas, she lives in North Carolina), and it was short and rushed. I'm not worried about getting that job. It was my very first interview, could've gone better, and now I feel more prepared for the next. I really want to work at this one hospital though, and I've applied but there is nothing on the website about the hiring process/timeline. The senior recruiters contact information is posted so I have called twice stating my name, reason for calling, and my number to reach me. No calls. I also have a LinkedIn account though and have found her and several other recruiters for this hospital. Would it be appropriate to try and connect with one of them? If so, what should I send? I don't want to be annoying and end up being blocked, but I also want them to know how badly I would like to work for them. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Job Application Status
Is there a difference between "application under review" and "application under consideration"? I just checked mine for a hospital system I applied to and it says "under consideration"

Carolinas Healthcare System's RN Residency Program 2017
Thank you! I hear it is a lot easier if you have connections, and harder for those coming from out of state. Right now, I don't know many people in the area so I'm not sure how I could help myself in that area. I'm just hoping something about my resume/cover letter will get their attention! But thanks for your insight! You make CHS sound wonderful!

Carolinas Healthcare System's RN Residency Program 2017
Do you know about how competitive CHS residency's program is/how many people that apply vs how many they hire? I am an out-of-state student looking into this program, specifically critical care! I found this comment very interesting. Any advice would be appreciated!

Nurse Residency Program at Carolinas Medical Center Main in Charlotte, NC
Hello!! I'm a third semester nursing student that is anxious to graduate and get on with my nursing career!I'll be graduating with my BSN and I have one more semester left, but I've already begun looking for potential places to work and have interests in CMC Main New Grad Nurse Program. I live in Texas and would be coming from out of state. I've already looked into CMC's residency program/application process and just wanted to get some personal stories/experience with it. I have a few questions: -how long did the process take to get called for an interview once submitting the application? -how many interviews did you go through before being hired? -do you know if they allow phone/video interviews for those out of state? -how competitive is this program? -if accepted and now working for CMC, how well do you like it? -how intimidating was the interview process?
