Hello, I am wondering what other on call position expectations are. I am 7 days on, 7 days off beginning Fridays at 5pm through Monday morning at 8am, then Mon-Thurs overnights 5p-8a. I hoping to get some feedback on what other FT on call positions are like as I've been at it for nearly a year and it is truly a whirlwind. I am doing triage and COC/admissions/deaths and some routine visits as well. There is supposed to be a nurse back up for the visits but due to staffing this typically isn't the case. We are managing a load of about 80 patients. Of course there are the occasional nights with no calls, but other times I am going for the entire weekend without a break around the clock. -Are any of you doing 7 on 7off for on call- if so is it just triage or visits also? -How many patients are you on call for? -Are you making a full RNCM salary? I am salaried but a bit lower than the RNCM's. Thanks in advance!
