I really appreciate the information you have provided! It was very helpful. I am currently wrapping up this semester and my instructor asked students to submit their practicum preferences (I attend school in Macon), so I chose Grady because I figured it would give me a greater chance of being accepted into their nurse residency program. Unfortunately, Grady was unable to accommodate us because they currently have 1,000 students who need to be placed but not enough preceptors. So I am trying my luck by submitting my practicum request to Piedmont Atlanta, which I think they will not be able to accommodate us either being that I go to school in Macon and they give priority to students who attend school in the Atlanta area (I could be wrong). Even if I don't get Piedmont for practicum, do you think that I still could have a chance for being chosen for Grady or Piedmont's nurse residency program? I would love to land an ER position. I currently work in two ERs as a tech, which one of them is a trauma 1 hospital.
