Hey everyone. I am a current nurse in another NICU in GA. I was wondering, from nurses that have worked at CHOC, how the NICU is.
  3. Okay its finally showing it! Now to apply!
  4. I just looked again and its just showing Spring 2021 RN-MSN for me. IDK why.
  5. Hey! I am applying for either the Summer or Fall term also for the NNP track. Not sure how the application process might be affected but I cannot find the primary application on NursingCAS. They said it would open on 8/15.
  6. @EDboundSN It was during the summer when I didnt have class so it was like working at full time job.
  7. @EDboundSN Yes just like a RN. My hospital is an academic center with my school but it was not set up by the school. The hospital likes to do it because it will help them hire people for the next year. Most of the externs stayed on after as PCI and many of us already have job offers. I already have on but I really want to move away. The externship was for 9 weeks so 27 shifts. Which is actually more than my practicum.
  8. @Jonesp75 Thank you for the info! Do you happen to know how many they take for the summer?
  9. @EDboundSN So it can actually mean different things to different hospitals. For instance I am considered a Patient care intern at my hospital but my friend in another hospital is considered an extern but we do the same things. Over the summer my externship was basically a practicum where I worked with the nurse and her patient load.
  10. @bhrn9 Sorry I should say a NICU. I work at another level 4 in another state so I have no idea what its like. But I agree it does look great! I am apply from Georgia but I have never been to Nashville.
  11. Hey everyone! I applied for the NICU track. I am currently a PCI in the NICU and completed an externship in the NICU over the summer. Good luck to everyone!!!
  12. So I am a current student in the nursing program. I believe when we were applying you had to have a minimum of a 2.8 and a 75 on the teas to be considered. The woman at my meeting said they don’t even look at students with anything less. Your gpa isn’t bad but I would redo the TEAS and apply for next year!
  13. I have a Bio degree already but my upper level classes destroyed my GPA. So appling I had a GPA- 2.8 Teas- 92 I have like over 500 volunteer hours. I applied like a week before the apps were due. I really think my Teas and my recommendations helped me.
  14. Hey y'all!!! I am a current nursing student on the Augusta campus. I was waitlisted and found out around the end of June that I got in. Like everyone has said so far apply ASAP!!!!!!!!! If you guys have any questions just let me know.
  15. Update!!! Got an email about sending my spring grades last week and then today got a call from Sarah. Officially a AU nursing student!!!
