  1. Has anyone graduated from this program? I'm a student there and halfway through. I'm not sure I'm really getting what I expected out of it and considering transferring. Just wondering if anyone had finished it and how prepared you felt in general once you were finished. Thanks!
  2. I have an interview coming up for my first teaching position. I'm being asked to prepare a 5-10 minute teaching presentation on the topic/medium of my choice. I currently work as a lactation consultant and teach that content everyday, so I'm very comfortable with it. Of course it doesn't relate to anything I would be teaching as an instructor, but the process is the point, right? Is it appropriate for me to use media and content (that I have created for use at my job or been a part of creating) for the presentation or should I pick another topic and start from scratch?
  3. I am in the same boat! Got my MSN Ed and (in my area) there just aren't many jobs right now. I've been working on my DNP, but also looking at doing the NP certificate at Maryville. My long term plan is to work as an NP with a part time teaching job or maybe some adjunct online teaching. What have you decided to do?
  4. Most of them seem to offer an "additional" specialization for those who are already NPs, but since I got my MSN Ed, I wasn't sure which had programs specifically for people who are not NPs already.
  5. I got my MSN Ed last year and am now halfway through my DNP. I considered doing the NP/DNP dual degree, but I decided it was too much all at once. My plan is to work as an NP with a side teaching job and move more into teaching as I get older. Any idea of programs designed to get your NP AFTER obtaining the DNP? (I know I have done things a bit backwards, but doing the DNP is more manageable at this moment. I couldn't have completed the clinical hours for an NP over the next few years while my kids are at home.). thanks!
