Yeah I'm assuming they've been mailed bc it seems like in the past they've posted it to Maine street after they've mailed them. I'm crossing my fingers for everyone!

I'm taking a prereq there starting January anyway so when I signed up they gave me the login info. but maybe it's in the email they sent after you applied? I'm assuming they've mailed letters since it's on my portal tho so hopefully they'll be coming.

Prereqs like a&p are hugely important to nursing school. I wouldn't recommend taking them 6-7 years in advanced because you likely won't remember it enough for it to be useful in your nursing classes. I saw a posting about someone who was in a med-surge class and hadn't really thoroughly learned a&p. he ended up having to drop med-surge because he didn't have the basic foundation

I'm right there with you. It's so nerve wracking. I have finals tomorrow and Thursday. Trying to focus on them while knowing we might find out soon has been torture!

I personal messaged the person that said they'd been rejected and she said that she got the rejection was via mail this year. I thought maybe she was talking about last year. Looks like they might have seen mail in waves. Who knows. I think admissions maybe hadn't gotten the nursing school's decisions yet when I spoke to them? I'm not sure. But I'm assuming what Brenda from nursing admissions is correct. At least I hope so because that means waiting will be over soon enough.

Me too! I want to know before Christmas haha. I saw on the ABSN-MSN option thread someone wrote admissions told them letters were going out the beginning of this week. I also called today to ask because I was dying to know and Brenda from nursing admissions said the letters would be going out this week but she didn't know exactly when. She said letters go out from the admissions office so I could call them to see if they've been sent. So I called and admissions said no decisions have been made? I'm assuming that Brenda from nursing is correct though.

Yeah I just thought the timing was kind of interesting because my then apparently people were starting to find out they didn't get in.

I got it on December 8th. I think that was Friday. I'm not sure if it really even means anything at all honestly. You probably didn't get one since you've filed yours!

I also have my undergrad degree in Psych! My story is also a little bit different. I wanted to be a nurse in high school, but didn't pursue it out of fear I couldn't do it (lame I know). Halfway through college, I realized I could handle the school work for nursing and began working on my prereqs and here I am. Currently waiting to hear back from an ABSN program. I agree with you- there is a ton of anxiety, pressure, stress, etc riding on this process.

I would say retaking A&P 2 would be your best bet. I definitely agree with starry nites. Rethink why you want to be a nurse and focus that bad feeling of not getting in to your program into motivation to buckle down and master it

Honestly, I'm 22 myself and I always feel bogged down knowing that I may not have a nursing job until I'm 24-25. But we both just need to remember that we are only in our early 20s. people become nurses in their 50s! We don't realize how young we are, but in the scheme of a lifetime, a few years doesn't make a huge difference :)

I think you should go for it! Why not take a chance on something you wanted to do :)

Talking to the director definitely isn't the best plan. I agree with everyone- try talking to the student first.

yeah I agree with you. definitely cautiously optimistic I saw somewhere that they're sending USM absn-msn letters out starting Monday. Maybe it'll be the same for our program.

I got an email from the USM financial aid office telling me to apply for financial aid for the 2018-2019 school year. I'm not sure what to make of it since typically schools don't send financial aid info/sign up info until after sending acceptances. I'm not sure if they sent it to everyone who applied, but I don't think that would make sense. Who knows though. But maybe a good sign?

Yeah I'm sure if you told them you prefer CT then they'll send it there :) I don't blame you for worrying though. I'd be stressed too. I'm already freaking out and I live in the states haha. I hope we know soon

Maine to CT usually only takes 2 days. Maybe they send out letters in waves? So rejections are sent first? Who knows

What state do you live in? I'm just curious because I'm wondering when I'll get mine. I'm sorry you didn't get in. It's so competitive and I think everyone who applied was more than qualified, but there's so many people for a small number of spots.
