  1. Were you accepted? Still in the program?
  2. I was just accepted for the Spring 2020 program, I applied with 32 points and was placed on the alternate list. I started at #34 and ended up being accepted- so it can happen. All alternates for the past four cohorts have been accepted. The Fall semester is steeper competition because they only take students for the Huntsville campus for the Fall, but they also accept more students than in the spring. I applied for the previous Fall and didn't receive a placement, though I only applied with 29 points (I think).
  3. Posting as an update for future students, I got in! The last time I wrote, I was ranked #24 on the alternate list and a month before orientation, I had dropped to #16. I attended the orientation in December and found out during that all alternates were going to be accepted (we had enough no-shows) !! Don't give up!
  4. i’m sure it will! but good luck, 41 points has always seen people through.
  5. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1401398073345808/?ref=share here is the link for the spring 2020 cohort!
  6. add me on facebook! rachel whitehead, they have a page going already-i joined!
  7. are you an alternate for the spring as well with calhoun? i just emailed asking for my ranking, and they were happy to give it to me. they also called to let me know that they hadn’t received my acceptance email! for some reason, the first time i submitted it-it didn’t go through! thankful they called to let me know. hopefully they would have done the same for you if they had not received it! oh haha i didn’t see this! awesome!! surely you’ll receive a seat! rooting for you!
  8. I am writing this and keeping up with this thread for anyone that may apply in the future and become an alternate. I know I turned to this site so much for insight waiting for the acceptance emails to go out, so I hope to ease someone else's mind! I was placed on the alternate list for the spring 2020 nursing program. With the email came a link and deadline to accept my position. The deadline for the letter was a little over a week after I received the initial decision email. I immediately accepted my position as an alternate and emailed the nursing secretary, where she notified me that I was #34 in line on the list of alternates. How many alternates they take, I don't know, but that's not important to me. Once the deadline passed for the Letter of Intent, I emailed the nursing secretary again to see if I had moved up in the ranking, and she told me I was now #26 and that the next big change probably will not take place until orientation, but to check in periodically. I will update this the more I find out! I do have to attend the orientation in December, the same as the students that do have seats for the program.
  9. I saw this only referenced once, and I think it doesn't hurt saying it again-they are not 'your' CNAs. Change your mind set, maybe they're less productive because they are being made to feel like your property. Looking at your credentials, and having been a CNA yourself, I am sure you have encountered the feeling of being less than before. Remember those days, what would you have liked for someone to have done for you? What would have motivated you? I don't feel like this was a hard question to answer yourself.
  10. You are so kind! Thank you! Wish we would be in the same program, but I am sure I would see you around! I spoke with DJ and she said to not loose hope yet, that the last three cycles of applications, ALL of the alternates have gotten a seat. So I am clinging onto hope!!
  11. would be AMAZING if so! thank you for your kind words. i know you ALL are gonna rock it! ❤️❤️
