  1. Thank you! I am just super stressed about how to get all of this done by February 2019. Along with taking the TEAS and getting all the immunizations. The head nurse of the ADN program sent me a file but it is so confusing! I really need a to do list. Which I might make myself. I am kinda regretting my degree plan because it is going to take longer. I don't work and my husband has been supportive and told me not to work while in school. It took him almost 8 years to get his Bachelors because he had to work and go to school. He told me to stay home with our daughter. So that is why he told me not to work while in school since it would take longer. I just feel bad that I am going to a 2 year college but it is going to take longer. But in the long run a BSN will get me further I think. Or so my advisor and friends who are nurses told me to go for the BSN. My advisor told me that if I do the Pre BSN degree plan here, but also do the ADN program here when I graduate as an RN and transfer it would only take me 1 year to get my Bachelors.
  2. Hi, this is maybe the second time I have ever posted on here. I have finished my first semester in college with all A's. I worked my butt off for it. First things first...I am in a Pre BSN program at a two-year college. However, when I started school I said I wanted to get into the ADN program my school offers. My advisor put me on this degree plan which I am fine with. I just still plan on getting into the ADN program here, becoming an RN and then go back to school. I am currently not working but I need to get a career. I have no time as of right now to get a job and the only jobs I could get right now aren't great. I can't apply to the nursing program at my school until prereqs and TEAS are done. Which will most likely not be in 2018. The prereqs I need so far are: 1. A&P 1 (taking it in Spring 2018) 2. A&P 2 3. Microbiology 4. General Chem. 1 My question is...what can I take together? My mom told me not to take my science classes together or I would regret it. I want to get good grades in those classes. But have any of you taken them together? What was that like? Also, would any of these be good to take in summer?
  3. Hi, I am currently in my first semester of college. I am going for an ADN. My question is...can you get a job in a hospital with that? What is the difference between associate rns and bachelor rns. I know the difference in the schooling but what is the difference in the job? I just want to make sure I don't waste any time. I want to get a BSN eventually but just want to make sure I am going to be able to get hired.
  4. This is my first semester, so is there a general science class I should take before hopping into A&P? My advisor knows my situation but she is really wanting me to do it next semester...also probably because it's her class. Other than the 5 classes I'm taking right now that is all I have ever taken. This is my first semester so I'm new at everything. I am sure I will have a lot of questions lol I know I do but can't think of them right now. Everyone just tells me A&P is intense so I want to prepare myself.
  5. Hi, I am Holli 25 years old and a mother to a 6-year-old daughter. I got my GED earlier this year (after years of procrastinating and scared to fail) After getting my GED I immediately applied for the college in my town. I am doing all the basics and prereqs. I'm going for their associate RN program (they don't have a bachelor) I plan on working as a nurse and then going back to get the bachelors. Right now I am taking Lifespan Psychology, English Composition, U.S History, Introduction to health professions, and a developmental math class (the only developmental class I need) My goal is to take as many classes as I can to make this go quick so I can apply to the nursing program. What classes would you recommend taking with A&P1? I plan on taking that next semester. My advisor is the teacher of that class so she really wants me to pick it first. Right now I'm making all A's and B's. Trying really hard to get my GPA up and stay up so I will have better chances of getting into the program. I'm not working so I have the time to do quite a bit of classes but just don't want to put too much on my plate to where I end up drowning and grades go down. I would love any tips, advice, for a first-time college student and as a pre-nursing student. I know it will be hard but it is literally all I see myself doing. Thank you.
