  1. 10% for evenings 15% for nights No weekend differentials
  2. Did anyone receive an offer? I interviewed yesterday as an alternate for Neuro ICU. Curious to see if anyone else had to interview again or if they got what they wanted.
  3. That's unfortunate. Sorry to hear that. Not sure I'm having better luck. I just received a call back today about my interview with the CVICU. They told me that I've been selected as an alternate. The recruiter said that I, "scored very high on their evaluation tool", but that "other people scored higher." She told me that the manager of Neuro ICU would like to interview me for a spot even though that wasn't my first or second choice. Shortly after the call from the recruiter, the Neuro ICU manager calls me and tells me that "The other managers really liked you and wished they could open a spot for you, but they just couldn't and I would like to interview you for my unit." I'm not sure I believe them, but I would really love to work there. It's my top choice hospital and the position is still critical-care. I'll be interviewing again next week.
  4. Does anyone know when we're supposed to get our emails for drug testing, math test, background check, etc? I accepted the offer verbally yesterday, but I haven't received anything yet.
  5. I got offered a position in the CVICU! I'm so stoked! Full-time, night shift. Pay is much more than I expected too. I'm very happy. Congrats to everyone who was offered a position and good luck to those who haven't heard back yet!
  6. Congrats! I got a call from Torrance when I was in the shower and I missed it! Now I can't get a hold of them! UGH WHY!?
  7. No. HR manager specifically told me she would be calling or emailing by this Friday.
  8. ICU Panel Questions 1. What have you been doing to prepare yourself for a position in Critical-care? 2. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 3. What was the sickest patient you have ever had and how did you care for them? 4. Describe a time you failed. What did you do in that situation? 5. Do you have any questions for us? HR Manager Interview Questions 1. Why Torrance Memorial? 2. Have you ever been fired from a job before? 3. Are you eligible for rehire from all your previous employers? 4. Have you ever been written up before? 5. You must commit to two years full time in the position that you are hired in. Are you okay with this? Please sign this contract. Make sure you bring extra copies of your resume, letters of recommendation, unofficial transcripts, licenses and certifications.
  9. I asked when I interviewed with the HR manager. She said it's really up to the units where you'll be placed and what's available. I'll just be happy to get a job. I don't have a strict preference. I was told the same thing, but there were a couple people doing the math test today.
  10. Same. I don't have PALS. CVICU didn't say anything to me about needing, but I'm going to try and get it anyways.
  11. They day of the interviews we were told by staff that they have a lot of spots open for the CVICU, but I'm not sure about other units and I don't know any numbers. Does anyone have information on pay or differentials at this hospital?
  12. I received a call from HR at 11:41am this morning. My second interview for CVICU is scheduled for tomorrow at 2pm. Hopefully you guys get phone calls today. If not, I know that they are doing interviews today, tomorrow, and possibly Wednesday. You may be called tomorrow.
  13. Yeah, agreed. I would put money on it that anyone who attended the open house has priority over applicants who didn't. Nice! That's good to hear. I'm hoping for the best.
  14. Torrance says that it's not required to go to their open house, but after going and seeing the craziness for myself I would argue that it is indeed absolutely 100% necessary in order to be considered for a position. However, I would still apply and see what happens. It only takes 10 minutes.
  15. I'm not sure how the next interview will be. I plan on asking when HR calls me on Monday to set up my second interview. If you didn't being letters of recommendation the first time or a portfolio with everything in it, then you'll definitely want to bring it this time. They kept my portfolio after the initial interview. I highly doubt there will be a third round of interviews. This is probably going to be it. They've got to start getting people through the hiring process, which could take 2-3 weeks. Especially, since the program starts late February.
  16. I got a second interview for the CVICU on Tuesday! Good luck everyone!
  17. There must have been 200 people at the open house today. How did everyone's interviews go? I heard some people got second interviews already.
  18. Nice. Yeah, working for them should definitely give you a leg up. Trauma ICU was my second choice. I interviewed for my first choice, which was CVICU. Good luck to you too!
  19. I dont have an email unfortunately. I do have the recruiter's number though, so I'm going to call again.
  20. A different recruiter. I'm going to call again today and leave another message.
  21. Well, I'm going to bring everything regardless. I don't want to be unprepared.
  22. Hi kbear121, I am in a similar situation. After my interview, I was offered a position in their ICU. Great! They told me that they would call me that Friday (1/5) with the offer. Never received a phone call. Last Wednesday (1/10), I received a phone call from their recruiter saying that they had to clear things up with administration and he acknowledged they offered me a job and that he would get back to me. It's now been two weeks since my initial interview, and I have heard nothing. Not a single email. I've called the recruiter multiple times and even left a message, but still nothing. Honestly, not entirely sure this hospital is somewhere I want to work anymore. How can a hospital offer someone a position and then never speak to them again? What the hell...
  23. Great! What unit are you interviewing for? I'm surprised there aren't more people posting on this topic. OHSU is the biggest/best hospital in Oregon and critical-care spots are highly coveted. I'm sure many people applied.
  24. I've heard bad things about USC's management and they seem to have a very high turnover rate. I would definitely take the offer at UCLA over USC.
  25. I didn't read anywhere that they had to be submitted with the application. However, I did read that if we are attending the open house on the 19th we have to bring all of those documents with us. I could be wrong though.
