  1. I reside in Orange County, CA. I'm a working mom to two young girls and a wife to a guy who works nights. I've been slowly chipping away my prerequisites at a community college, but I keep hearing how the RN jobs around my area are scarce. Moving out of state or far away in general isn't exactly an option for us as my husband has children from a previous relationship. It's going to take me forever to get into a BSN program at this rate, and I'm already 30. I know a lot of people change their career in their 30's and even 40's, but financially for us, the sooner for me the better. I even checked out West Coast University but I can't get approved for that large amount of a student loan, and at this point I'm considering switching my major to court reporting So I guess what I'm asking is, are hospital jobs really hard to come by as an RN with your ADN degree? Is it even worth going for the ADN initially? I'm sorry for all the glumness, just trying to find a valid reason to keep going with this.
