  1. Hi everyone :) I just passed my NCLEX last month, and I am so stressed over the fact that I cannot find a job! I was under the impression that nurses were in such high demand! It seems that everyone wants at least a year, if not 2-3 years experience. Well, what have I been doing in clinicals for the past year??!! You graduate, and then they just kick you out the door without any advice. I'm just frustrated that after all the hard work I've done to get this far is leading me nowhere. Any suggestions? Thanks
  2. Hi everyone, my name is Mandy, and in August I will be graduating from the LPN program in Ohio (FINALLY!!!). I have ALWAYS wanted to move to fla, but lately I have been hearing that LPN's don't make too much down there I have a 9 year old son that I would be taking with me, and I just want to know if we could make it out there on an LPN's salary. Thank you for taking the time to read my post :)
  3. Thank you all for the encouragement!! I really needed it. I think I ended up letting stress get the best of me which sometimes it's hard to just take a moment, breath in, and exhale!!!!
  4. Two weeks ago the class average of our endocrine exam was 75% (I got a 76%) I worked so hard for that test. My problem now is Monday's respiratory test. I don't have the energy to take anything in because of how hard I worked for my last test and all's it lead to was failure. I'm struggling with respiratory and don't even know where to begin. I keep trying to put everything together, but I'm afraid that it's just not working. Any advice on where to begin, or how to put this all together?
  5. Hi, I'm Mandy, a second semester LPN student I totally know how you feel. For our first 5 weeks, we have one instructor. For the rest of the semester we have a different instructor who comes in. She taught RN's forever. She is teaching us LPN student's as if she is still in an RN classroom. Her first test, endocrine, had a class average of 75%. I got a 76%. FRUSTRATING! I think I'm going to start studying the RN NCLEX books for the rest of the semester.
  6. What always helps me study for anything is note cards. ALSO, I break everything down and separate it. Because if you try to learn everything in whole it's alot harder, than taking one thing, breaking it down (on a chart, or in a notebook). Make sure you learn one thing before moving onto the next is also a biggie!
  7. I'm an Lpn student who will be graduating in July. I was just curious about everyone's study type. I myself, still don't have one! Do you read your textbooks, or do you find it more helpful to read the NCLEX books? Sometimes there are so many chapters with tons of inbetween words, where as the NCLEX books are more straight forward. Thanks
  8. I just recently bought the lippincotts review for nclex-pn 7th edition and thecomprehensive review for the nclex-pn 2nd edition by saunders and these books are WONDERFUL! I'm not sure if you're going for RN or LPN though. The lippincott just has questions for each section where the saunders has info on the subject matter as well as questions at the end of each section. Oh and saunders also has med sections that go with each disorder.
  9. Thank you very much Meghan and Vicky!!!!
  10. I have been working on a hemodialysis diet for HOURS and I am getting nowhere I have the diet done. The problem is finding out how much sodium, potassium, and protein is in each item. For instance, breakfast- 6oz oatmeal, 1/4 c scrambled eggs, 1 slice of white toast etc... I cannot find the nutritional values of these foods anywhere and I am soooo frustrated. I have just wasted endless hours on this when I could have been studying HELLLLPPPP!!!!!
  11. Hi, I'm in my second semester of LPN and I was wondering if anyone knows of any links to sites that may have practice tests for IV therapy along with complications etc... Thanks!!
  12. Any suggestions on how to minimize all of this information to make it easier? I have three very long chapters to read and there's so much information. How am I supposed to remember all of this? Oh and I'm an LPN student entering my 2nd semester. Thank you to all who reply. I really appreciate it.
