  1. Hello! I found a program at the local Rasmussen college here in town that I want to attend, but I have some concerns. I went to the information session today and was told a bunch of information. It's a 21 month program, 11 weeks on, 2 weeks off. Then you have to take and pass the NCLEX to become an RN. The school seemed really great, yet it is expensive. It costs 47,000. There are things that would be great for my family, a few being that it's only 2 years, you don't have to have pre-req classes, and there is not a waiting list. I have been reading reviews online, and they are mixed but mainly not so great. I don't want to waste my time and money, if companies don't respect this school and the nurses it produces. Does anyone have any advice or experience with the nursing program at Rasmussen? They say the ADN program is accredited. Thank you!!
  2. Thank you so much for all the info!! I do not have a nursing degree, but I am looking into school now :) Do you have to be an RN or can you get the job as an LPN?
  3. 0Hello! I have been a stay at home mom for the past 6 years and my youngest just started kindergarten. So this mom is ready to join the working world! I love kids and the idea of nursing, but was always concerned with the hours and missing out on time with my kids. I really love the idea of school nursing, but I am kind of a vomit-phobe. Other then that, i think it actually sounds like a great job! And having the summers/breaks off with the kids would be a major plus. Also Monday-Friday, no weekends and off early. Any advice ?? I would love to have the relationship with the kids too. Thanks so much!!

  6. Hello there! My name is Rebecca, and I have been a stay at home mom for the past 6 years. Now that my youngest is in full time school, I want to go to school! My heart has been saying nursing for years, so I am enrolling in a CNA class to "feel it out". Then I hope to purse LPN and possibly RN. I am interested in finding a position part time to start, and having weekends at home so I can be with my kids. I really like the idea of working in plastic surgery or esthetics doing skincare work etc. It does seem like the aestheticians around where I live make minimum wage working at massage places. This isn't what I want to do I would love to get a job as a plastic surgery nurse of sorts. I am having a hard time finding information about what route to go school wise. I have looked into aesthetician school (we have one about 30 minutes away) but it's all day for about 12 months and cost around 15-20,000. At that point I would have a certificate but would have to start nursing school after. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks so much!!
