  1. Thank you so much for your input! I assume the TN letter is the letter from my employer? Ok, So you applied for your U.S. license first then? I was under the impression that you had to have your visa first before you could apply for licensure, but it sounds like you applied while still in Canada? How long did that take? I am worried about making my US employer wait too long. I'm also confused because when I called the National Visa Center in the US about the documents required for the TN visa, the representative said she had never heard of a visa screen. She did however say that I would need a DS-260 form.
  2. Anyone from Canada recently apply for a TN visa? I will be applying for the first time at a Canadian-US Port of Entry and am having a difficult time finding a concrete list of required documents I will need to present. Some websites say I will need a visa screen/GCFNS certification, as well as a nursing license for the state I will be practicing in, while others do not mention these at all. To confuse matters even more, some also mention a credentials evaluation. Is this the same as a visa screen? When I looked on the GCFNS website they seem to be different, but it would be so expensive to pay for both! If my employer filed an I-129 petition form, would I still need to pay for these assessments? I would so greatly appreciate any feedback from those of you who have recently and successfully gotten their TN visa! Thank you!
