PMHNP Programs
Employers don't respect 100% online FOR PROFIT schools such as Walden, Kaplan, University of phoenix. A lot of respectable programs have transitioned to online or hybrid programs. Frontier has an excellent program and is respected by a lot of employers and they do require some on campus attendance for skills and such.

If you don't have to be (insert job) before becoming a PA, why become an RN before NP?
These programs exist because nursing schools saw it as a solution to the "nursing shortage" to streamline more nurses into the profession and as a way to make more tuition money as most of these programs charge the graduate rate even for the undergraduate classes.

OR NP
If you are uncertain of what type of NP you would like to be or what specialty you would like to work in maybe continuing immediately to graduate school is not the best decision. It would be a waste of tuition to start school only to find out you hate the job and have to go back and spend more money. Just a though! Do you currently work in the OR to know if you will even like working in that area of nursing or if you can tolerate the attitude of most surgeons?

Starting NP School- working nights
It is definitely possible. I worked full time at night my entire program. I did all of my homework at work during the night shift; however, my unit is not particularly busy at night so there was plenty of downtime. I never had to study outside of work as I had 8 hours 3 nights per week where I could study at work. So, for me it worked out great. But I will say my sleep pattern is totally jacked up.
