I am a nursing student and I am writing a paper for my junior level english class. I am going to do a job outlook for neonatal intensive care nursing and pediatric intensive care nursing. I am going to conduct an email interview to whoever would like to do this with me. I will be sending a email of interview questions that I would like to have answered as honestly and extensively as possible. I am doing my a OR observation next and I am sooo nervous, it takes alot to gross me out and I watch it on TV but sometimes I cringe. What am I going to dooo!!!!!! any suggestions

wow that RN hit on the nose I am school and one thing I learn is that you are working off the the nurses license when doing anything to his/her patient that is absolutely horrible when I graduate I dont know if I would allow that I think I would opt to give my own meds and ask them please to not assign a med tech to me that not only takes pressure off the tech but off me as well

You are so right it is really a sad day when things like that are taking place. I think that there has to be a way for nurses to reclaim what there rights are and what should be done in there states. Health should be equal accross state lines there is so much difference from state to state , facility to facility and health is all the same it does not care anybody no matter what facility or state have across the line the same issues.

wow all of this is so new and so interesting to me I think that its sad that the pharm and med passing seems to be taking so lightly in some facilities and personally becoming a nurse for me one of my core things is to pass drugs thats something that I personally want to do as a part of my job and thats what I want to be trained for on top of many countless things

OK, well the students are fighting now to get it in the program

smilingblueeyes I didnt mean to offend I did not say ALL programs I said this one locally we were talking about things that suck in nursing and things that should not happen. I think that is absolutely wonderful to hear that yours does I think it should definitely be offered in all schools no matter what degree you are receiving. I definitely want to know that someone is caring for me knows a something about what they are administering. This school is very much accredited and its sad like I said in my previous the girl I know is not at all happy about it and I dont know about most programs I know about the one here. I was not speaking on behalf of all programs and I PERSONALLY do not know why they(the students) are just not trying to get it in the Associate in science of nursing program. But again before gets all weird acting I was not passing judgement over one program to another I was talking about one program in particular because if you read the post I replied to you will understand what was being said. AGAIN SORRY TO OFFEND ALTHOUGH!!!!

whats so sad is that I know at a local school with an asn program an established school attached to a very established hospital and medical school doesnt offer pharmacology to the asn program students I am in a bsn program and I learned this from one of my coworkers that she didnt have to take pharmacology and she was not happy about and she graduates in december and she does not feel confident about that.

oh I never even thought twice about changing my profession I have wanted to be a nurse since forever and I want to continue and get my msn there are so many opportunities in nursing that I would never change I think it is just funny how people are and I didnt believe her for one second on how much she made I just wanted to know if anyone reallly knew how much a medicine tech makes and now that I am almost sure they are cna's with a license to pass meds I know they dont make anything and I was telling my husband there is no way someone in a nursing home is making 20.00 an hr without a degree. Absolutely ridiculous

oh and sorry that many people dont know of your position alot of times I see people who are in health care have never worked in a facility before that they graduated or before they started there job. Alot of times you really dont know all the different positions. I know at my facility we dont have medicine techs but at the place where I am doing my clinicals we do but I had never heard of a medicine tech

ok see this must have been misunderstand not a medical technologist just a med tech( a person who only passes medications) thats all she hasnt had any schooling we are not sure if she is even a cna oh I know a medical technilogist can make good money but a medicine tech( a person who only passes meds) of what they would make. I heard they were cna's licensed to pass meds

oh wow this is horrible it really makes me get upset when I think about the years I am putting in on my degree This is really irratating to find out.

and whats so crazy about it she is sooo competetive that everytime time he tells her I am getting my bsn she like loses it because this is my first semester of clinicals but I am actually a jr. 3 more semesters YAY!!! but it is so craazy she tells my husband oh she should quit school and come work where I work.
