I am going to die if I don't get into nursing school. I need to get into nursing school Badly, it is my calling. I am 25 years old and I am having a quarterly crisis. I just graduated from a community college in my area about a year ago, I Majored in Biology. At the beginning I didn't take my school seriously because I wasn't sure what exactly I wanted to do. I managed to graduate with a 3.0 average and made the dean list my last semester of college ( I know, I know, took me long enough). However, my G.P.A. average for the science courses is 2.9 I didn't want to go to nursing school because I didn't think I was smart enough, but I have been working in the medical field for about 4 years as a medical assistant (MA). I recently landed a job at one the hospitals as a MA and the pay is blah (22/hr--$42,000 annually). I do EKGS, vitals, and other administrative work. It's been about a year since I graduated and since working at the hospital, now more than ever I want to be a nurse. I am still a little doubtful but my eagerness to become a nurse is increasing day by day. I recently applied to PACE but I didn't get in, not sure if its because of my grades or because I missed one of my transcript from a previous college I attended, OR because my personal statement was too personal. Also, I haven't taken any pre nursing school exams such as NLN and so on. I would like to know which career path is best for me as far as getting into nursing school. I have most of the pre req., lots of experience, but I want to know should I do an accelerated program, associate program. I desperately want to be a nurse because I feel like its my calling but maybe I messed up in school and this may never happen. Please offer any advise as to how do I increase my chances of getting in, which programs would should I look into. I already started studying to take the nursing pre entrance exams, in hope that it will make me more appealing when applying to school. PLEASE HELP
