I am just looking for some info while I wait to hear back from a recruiter. This is my first day on this site so if I am posting in the wrong location or something, apologies! I am an E5 and have been in the Army Reserve since 2008. I did my initial MOS training as a 68WM6 (Medic with LPN identifier) and retained my LPN MOS (68C) when the Army separated them into distinct MOS's. I am currently enrolled in a BSN program and will graduate in December of this year. I have a cumulative GPA of 3.33 and a GPA of 3.93 for my BSN classes. I graduated honor graduate from both my medic and LPN Army schools. I know it is competitive to commission as an Army Nurse. Do they use my cumulative GPA only (because that would be disappointing since I was not serious about my education right out of high school, which was 15 years ago, and though my GPA isn't awful, it does not reflect who I am today)? Does my Army enlisted schooling count for anything? Does anyone have any information in regards to what the process is like? How long does it take and what are deadlines (if any)? What the chances of being accepted for direct commission are? Anyone with a similar situation that has been through the process? That was a lot of questions.... I appreciate any info that anyone can give! Thank you in advance! P.S. I have done research on goarmy and other websites, so I have a general idea, but I know from experience that it is better to talk to people who have been through, or are going through, similar situations.
