Hello! I'm currently a student at Stony Brook working on my English degree, looking to get into the accelerated program at Hunter once I graduate. I'm currently taking summer classes at a local community college and am having some difficulty with my A&P course. The Hunter website states that you need a B or higher in the prerequisites and I anticipate getting around a B+ for my A&P course; my GPA at Stony Brook is around a 3.8. I know Hunter bases their acceptance off 50% GPA and 50% NLN exam, but I was wondering if the GPA grading was biased toward the pre-requisites. Will having lower grades in the pre-requisite classes matter (compared to the courses for my English workload) if my overall/cumulative GPA is high? If I do a bit poorly on some prerequisites, will it hurt my chances of getting in despite my overall GPA being decent?
