I saw the Facebook group under "UNLV SON Fall 2017" as well and it seems that it was made about 9 months ago. It's a closed group but my guess is that it was made for aspiring applicants for this fall like us. I don't necessarily think it was made for our cohort though. I'll see any of you that have your signing session on the 18th by the way!

I think it is hard to make an educated guess on what the cut off is going to be. There are so many factors that go into this that we won't really know until it happens. If we base it off of these past few semesters, the cut off will probably slightly increase or decrease from the 91.0 area. If we compare Fall 2015's cutoff (I believe it was around 90.6) to Fall 2016's cut off (92.7), it would be hard to make an assumption for 2017 with that large 2 point jump. Heck, if we just base it off of the lack of activity in this forum, we could probably be the only applicants this fall and we'll all get in. Lol. There are just so many variables that would play a role in this that we'll all be anxious no matter what. I'm just here hoping for the best! And as for paying for summer tuition, I'll worry about that if and when I get accepted. No need to add extra stress to myself if it's not something I'll need to worry about yet.

Just went on the UNLV Fall 2016 forum and saw that they started receiving calls on July 7th. If this year is anything like last year, we may start getting calls by the end of next week!

@DominiqueRose: You nearly have a perfect score on the HESI. I don't think you should retake the HESI to try to get 100% on it. If it were me, I would retake some classes. In my opinion, it's easier to get an A in a class than it is to get a perfect score on the HESI. The only con to this is that retaking classes is far more expensive than retaking the HESI. Ultimately, the decision is up to you though. Are you planning on applying for the fall?

I'm most excited for the fact that I'm progressing in life. I like knowing I'm staying on track for my goals and that I'll be in a career that I enjoy one day. Other than that, I look forward to being able to have the knowledge to benefit others and better their lives. Meeting new friends and people is another plus as I am new to the area! Lol. I'm not excited for the countless hours of stress though. That's probably a normal thing when you're in school but still not something I enjoy. How about everyone else?

I second Lindsey. I studied similarly to Lindsey's suggestions and I ended up with a 95% overall. @goodwolf: When I took it, I didn't have any pictures or anything during my A&P section. That doesn't mean there won't be anything though. I'm not sure if any others got pictures during their HESI or not.

No problem, Keiko! If I calculated everything right, I'm applying with about 97.5ish points. You don't need to be nervous. You'll do fine! As for the HESI, all I did to study was read the purple HESI book and supplement it with quizzes. I used the HESI Pocket Prep app almost every night and did a some quizzes online as well. The app is only $12 with tons of questions. The HESI book is enough of a review to get you a good score for the math, reading, and grammar portions. The A&P section in the HESI book is okay but I think it's best to review material outside of the book too because I had quite a few questions that the review book never mentioned. I already had a good grasp of anatomy by being an assistant TA in lab so that helped me out the most for the A&P section. While I was studying for my HESI, I ran into this persons post. Finished with my signing session. It was quick and easy. We were told that we should know whether we have been accepted or not by July 13th. We were also told that last fall's cut off was 92.7 and that we could possibly see a similar cut off this year. There were also a total of 12 applicants in my signing session which apparently was a "full session." And thank you Cultureddd. I found the calculation worksheet and saw that I met the requirement of having at least an 88 minimum to apply. Now I have to anxiously wait a month and a half to see if I get a call!

Hey everyone. I stumbled across this forum while looking up nursing school tips. I, too, am applying for the fall. My signing session is tomorrow, June 1st at 1pm. How is everyone calculating their points when applying? I'm fairly new to this as I just decided to pursue nursing last semester. I've already completed the prerequisites and HESI.
