Hi I am a nurse in California and am trying to get endorsed to IL. I originally applied on 3/17 and still have not received my license or temporary license. I am waiting for the board of California to send over my paperwork to IL and for my fingerprints to be approved (they were originally "lost" so I sent a new receipt with the number on it but they haven't left the mailroom yet". I accepted a job in March at a hospital in IL with a start date of 5/22. I have informed HR of this delay in my license and they stated that I can start 6/5 instead. They also said that they need the permanent license to start. I am wondering if it is possible to lose a job if I need this start date to be extended longer because of licensing issues. I'm also wondering if a temporary license is eligible only at certain facilities or at all. Thanks in advance!
