Hello fellow nurses! I am currently waiting for my fiance visa interview here in the Philippines and since my husband - to - be wants me to pursue my nursing career in the US, he said that i should start processing the requirements for my NCLEX application as early as possible. I know that the first thing I need to do is to take care of my CES report. So, i created an account at CGFNS but didn't make the CES payment yet because I wanted to make sure that I am doing the right thing. Fiance visa gives me 90 days to get married once I land in the US, and for sure, I will use my husband's last name after that because that's what we both want. Now, I would like to know if it's better for me to work on my CES report while I'm still in the Philippines and use my maiden name, then have it changed to my married name after? Or should i just wait after i get married in the US? I'm quiet confused. I want the one that's hassle - free. Please enlighten me. Thanks!

Thank you so much for your response Silverdragon102 :) Yea, I will surely start the CES thing in a month or so since I'm still waiting for my fiance visa. Regarding the application to BON, is it ok if I will just do it when i arrive in the US? I found out that CES expires after 12 months. Some USRNs from the Visa page in fb where i'm a member at, told me that it's best if I apply once I already have a ssn since it is part of the requirements of my preferred state. Would you agree? And, is it true that, aside from CES, I also need to undergo CP? If so, when should it be done?

Hello everyone! I am new to the site and I hope to get some good advices from you all. I am a registered nurse in the Philippines but never had an experience working in a hospital. I didn't even expose myself to short term nursing related trainings after graduation (2012). I worked as a Call Center agent for 4 years, resigned last year and found my now fiance, at the same year. My fiance is an American who lives in Chicago and we are currently waiting for my fiance visa to be approved. I wanted to pursue my nursing career in Illinois once I get there, eventually. And I heard from a few folks that i can be a registered nurse there even if I don't have the experience, I just need to pass NCLEX. I googled the requirements to apply as a nurse in my preferred state and found out that I need to present a CES to the state's BON. I've read one article from this site that CGFNS does CES. I just need to create an account to their site and pay the service for $350.00 before I can get the pre-filled forms and present them to my high school, nursing school and the licensing agency which is called PRC here. The article also stated that it's best to work on my CES while still in the Philippines to avoid any hassle of asking somebody to do it for me. Please let me know if I understood the process correctly. Enlighten me. TIA!
