Hi! I was just accepted into the OC campus for the Spring term and I just want to say don't give up!! I know so many people who got accepted after applying two or even three times. I didn't have the best GPA (my undergrad GPA was significantly lower than yours) and I had very little health care experience. I just made sure to perfect my personal statement and made sure they were able to see my passion for pursuing nursing on paper. I also received LOR's from people who I can trust to say only the best things. I had one from my anatomy professor (whom I built a solid relationship with throughout the semesters) and one from my personal mentor who also happens to be a nursing manager. Many schools only accept professional LOR's so I wanted to take advantage of the fact that USF allowed a personal one. With that said, I feel like USF really does put a big emphasis on your personal statements and LOR's, and in my case, even more so than GPA and health care experience. Since you already have the healthcare experience down, I'd suggest really honing in on your personal statement. Best of luck to you!

They just said that they wanted to inform me of my acceptance and that letters are being sent out in the mail this week so expect one in the coming days! It was like a 2 minute conversation.. very short probably because I was hyperventilating the entire duration of the phone call. Btw where were you able to find the intent to enroll form?

Yes I did just now! It's going to be so interesting meeting everyone in person after talking through usernames on this forum haha yay!

For all those accepted to the OC campus, should I make a Facebook group? I'm not sure if you guys use Facebook or not but I know cohorts in the past has made one!

Don't lose hope!!! You never know if they might call over the course of a few days. They also might send out waitlist decisions as well!!

I know two other people that got phone calls with news of acceptance to the OC campus. Who did you call/speak with? I called OC campus and they had no idea. It was the main campus that called us, either Ayesha or Erin.

I KEEP CALLING AND THE LINES ARE BUSY. I am going crazy here... do they call for rejections? FYI I applied to the OC campus. It seems they are calling for OC campus decisions today.

I have a feeling OC and Main campus decisions will be out at the same time. I know for all the previous cycles they came out at the same time. I'm hoping that is the case with us too! Also hoping they increase the cohort size for OC campus... @Macyymace what other schools are you applying to? I was planning on applying to more but decided to only apply to USF for this cycle. If I don't get in, I'll probably apply to a few others next cycle to help increase my chances.

I'm feeling pretty disappointed about the delayed decisions considering the Spring term starts so soon in January. I personally don't have to worry about moving or housing but I know some people might have to and it just seems like they're not giving us enough time to plan ahead. Its hard to figure out what the next few months or even year will look like so I'm really hoping they don't keep us waiting until late November/early December... in the mean time I'm just going to start preparing for the worst case scenario just in case.

Nothing yet for me either. Sigh...

I called and asked when we can expect to hear they said 10 weeks from the deadline. They told me the same thing the last time I called. She also said that we will definitely receive an email whether we are accepted or rejected and then a physical letter for admitted students. If they have time, they will also call but she said that was not standard. I guess this doesn't really help us since this is information we already knew... sorry guys!

What does your status say? Mine just says: "Submitted" but it's been like that ever since I submitted it in September. I know in the past it said: "To be reviewed after deadline" and then it changed to "Submitted" towards the end of October for some people.

They said late October or early November so this week is the earliest we should expect decisions. Last spring, a majority of the people found out the last Friday of October which is TOMORROW for us! I wonder if OC applicants find out the same time as the main campus applicants. I'm assuming we do since the main campus does admissions for both but does anyone know? I might call them today just to appease my anxiety...

So should we not expect phone calls for acceptances anymore? Because I know in the past they called all admitted students, emailed rejections, and used postal mail for waitlisted students.

Nothing for me yet! I'm just going to try not to panic or think about decisions until the last week of October (maybe even early November since I applied to the OC campus and they had a later deadline). When I called, they also mentioned that the main campus in SF makes all the decisions even for the OC campus, and they said they were in the process of moving offices. Maybe that might be contributing to the delay in decisions? Not sure but either way, hope you guys aren't too stressed! Thankful and glad to be going through this (torturous) process with all of you! :)

I'm wondering the same! I actually called admissions to ask when we should expect to hear back and they vaguely responded "8-10 weeks from the deadline." Which means for us OC folks, we won't hear back from them until early-mid November. I hope they don't keep us waiting that long... How is everyone feeling? I go from feeling confident to doubtful to confident to doubtful as the days pass... it's driving me insane! It's tough to gauge just because USF doesn't use a point system (which I guess I'm thankful for) but at the same time it makes it hard for me to determine how likely my chances are. From past forums, I read students with incredible stats not getting accepted, while other students with "less impressive" GPA's and etc. getting accepted, so I really don't know what to expect here. All in all, I'm glad they use a holistic approach for the admissions process but I'm just wondering what makes an ideal candidate for USF.

I check my email every waking hour. I heard it sometimes comes in the junk folder so I even check that one too. Starting to think I shouldn't even check or expect a decision until late October for my own sanity... If I don't hear back in two-three weeks I might just give them a call. A friend found out she was waitlisted simply by calling so I might just do that!
