Hey! I just got accepted into an OR residency! Before that, I looked at a billion OR job postings, and I didn't see one that preferred to see scrub tech experience from a nurse that didn't have OR experience. That's not to say it won't help, because during the two OR interviews I had, they both wanted to know if I had any at all experience in the OR, but I feel they wanted to know more if I knew what the OR was like, not if I had any scrubbing exp. Too many people on here tell you what to do, so I say do what you like, but if you're ever wondering what OR positions want from you, I say go on Indeed.com and look at the job postings! They usually straight up tell you. Have a good day!
