  1. Hi all! I am a new grad RN and I’ve been struggling to figure out what unit would be the best fit for me in terms of difficulty and long term goals. This week, I had interviews with both the Neuro ICU and Cardio Thoracic ICU at a Level I Trauma Center and I want to be a little more informed about both prior to facing a decision (if I get any job offer at all lol). I have a prior degree in Neuroscience so I’ve always been interested in the brain. I even did my practicum on this same Neuro ICU unit so I am familiar with the workings of this unit and loved the culture there. However, I do want to pursue my CRNA in the future and I feel like the CTICU will present me with better learning opportunities, especially in hemodynamics and medical devices. As a neuroscience kind of person, the heart has always been very daunting to me but I think that it may be a good challenge for my personal growth in the long run. I am torn between the two units and any advice or input is appreciated, thanks!
  2. Hey all, I got a call earlier today about being accepted so you should find out soon! Good luck and thank you for all of the advice that you've given me on this thread. It is much appreciated and I hope to see you guys at LLU this fall!
  3. I have been so anxious about hearing back that I called up the nursing admissions office on Tuesday (I am that annoying person that keeps calling, I know )! The secretary told me that the committee was going to review the applications on Wednesday, the 12th, and that we would hear back by the end of the month. It's a little later than we previously thought and I am a bit bummed out about that, since I need to figure out taking classes for the summer soon. Hopefully we hear back a little earlier, just updating!
  4. We are hearing back so soon, I am getting pretty nervous! Your stats and experience look pretty good. I've scoured through this forum to search for average GPAs and test scores and the range for those who get accepted is a little vague though. Hopefully we can both secure a spot for Fall 2017. Good luck, maybe we will see each other in the Fall!
  5. Hello everyone! I am starting a thread for Loma Linda BSN applicants for the Fall of 2017. I am just so nervous about hearing back! Looking to see how everyone's application and interview process is going as well as sharing advice and such from previous years. Feel free to share stats, experiences, etc. My stats: Prerequisite GPA: 3.4 TEAS: 91 Critical thinking: 24 2 years experience as a residential counselor in an assisted living home I got an interview on March 28th, but I am unsure if I will be getting in since Fall acceptance is always a bit more difficult. The interviewer said that we would hear back around mid-April. I would love to hear back from everyone and good luck on your application process!
