  1. Has anyone that chose Dallas heard anything. All of my friends that chose Plano got responses yesterday. Haven’t heard anyone mention Dallas
  2. It’s VERY independent we don’t have lectures. You go to campus for sim labs and post conference and all exams are on campus. So you’ll be on campus at least 5Xs a month maybe more the workload some weeks are better than others. Some weeks you can have assignments, multiples tests, sim, and still have to do your clinicals. My best advice is get a calendar and plan out everything! we got notifications of interviews around mid Aug. I was in the first round of acceptance which was Sept 17.
  3. Transcript evaluation July interview/essay notification Aug
  4. There are no lectures or lecture videos. I read the required books and I have SimpleNursing subscription (which is the best), nursing in the making, and Cathy parks. The school is good, the professors are super nice & supportive and I think I’m biased about the program. I knew before I started that they give the bare minimum so I was mentally prepared to teach myself. Most of my time is spent studying but I do try to balance a personal life. So I say if you aren’t comfortable learning on your own try a more traditional/in class ABSN route like a 15 month program. You don’t get any failures, if you fail a class (below a 75) you get kicked out, no appeal, no re-entry. Failing is test average. Like the class we are in now only has 2 tests so if the avg of those two tests are below a 75 you are out the program. Tests can cover anywhere between 6-12 chapters within a two week period, and keep in mind you’ll have 3-4 other classes as well. It’s very doable and the clinical component of the program is THE BEST. Tech has the most clinicals hours out of a lot of programs. We go twice a week. This is where what you learn in the book comes to life and it makes sense!
  5. The program is self taught so it requires you to be SUPER disciplined! If you are someone that needs lecture or PowerPoints this is not the program. They give some info out but not enough to learn the concept. You do that on your own. Quite a few people failed out the program in my cohort the first semester. It goes quick with A LOT of information. It’s doable but it requires a lot from you. You have to be flexible. Remember you’re condensing a BSN program down to 10 months.
  6. The last few cohorts heard back around august 14-23
