  1. hi thanks for your response. they lost my paper work the first time and I re sent it in May again. they confirmed receipt late May. to update on my rant though I finally got through to them and they said they did approve my application and they mailed it today. so I won't get it on time but my advisors said it's fine so I'm not getting kicked out!
  2. mail was just delivered and no letter. after i got hung up on earlier the bons phone lines seem to be busy. i have tried 40 times on my cell phone and im not sure how many on the house phone. has anyone else been in a similar situation? am i really not getting into nursing school because of this?
  3. just need to vent in a way that wont get me in trouble! i have been accepted into my schools ADN program, pending my BON clearance. well here is the problem; I sent ALL necessary forms to the TX BON mid-late April, including court documents for a class b misdemeanor. it is now August and i still have not received ANYTHING from them. I suffer through the hour long hold times to get non answers from them such as "well we did receive your paper work but we havent reviewed it yet." APRIL, MAY, JUNE, JULY, AUGUST WHAT DO THESE PEOPLE DO?!?!?!?! one of my study buddies, with a worse record than mine by a long mile, sent his paperwork in 2 weeks after i did and got his in 12 business days!!!!!! i just called them, waited through the hold, i am always VERY respectful and kind to these people, a lady answers the phone, i introduce myself and get straight to the point; "May i check on the status of my application please?" her: sure whats your name again? oh hold on... hang on... *hangs up the phone* 46 minutes of their terrible hold music and i get hung up on!?!?!?! if i dont have this clearance letter, in my hands, in 4 more days..... i will be removed from my schools program. i have played the pitty me card i have played the nice guy card i have done EVERYTHING that I can possibly do.... and that is the worst part, knowing that I can not do anything. totally out of my hands. my blood pressure has been through the roof all summer because of this and I am fairly certain that I will be removed from the program because of the BON. i asked, no i begged, for an extension on the schools deadline from our director of the ADN program, who said herself that i am in the top 5% of my class, and she flat out said NO. I get it, its hard to give extensions on stuff like this but it's absolutely terrible that I have worked this hard for NOTHING. the countless hours of studying to make good grades, the late nights studying falling asleep in my book waking up with terrible neck pains all for NOTHING. i asked myself after i got hung up on, " why even bother calling back, they treat me like garbage or worse and i already know they are just going to give me a non answer. why bother?" but i cant just sit here and do nothing. end rant.
  4. thanks for the help everyone! I will pay a visit to the court house tomorrow and speak with the nursing advisors after. I really hope I don't have to hire a lawyer for this. they are so expensive!
  5. hello, first ill start by saying that i have found this forum very helpful for many things (before signing up) 2nd i need some help, ill make it as short as possible. i was convicted of a misdemeanor 7 years ago, did community service, got it expunged. the charge: giving false identification (texas) i have always gone by my middle name so the officer asked me for my name and i said "middle name, last name) asked for my ID so i gave it to him and he slapped the cuffs on me and said i was under arrest for giving false identification to a police officer "insert Miranda rights here". i had just turned 18 that year, had no idea what to do and scared out of my mind so i said "officer my name is on my license please look at it again my full name is "first middle last" its on my license! he told me if i didnt stop arguing with him that he would charge me for something else so i just sat in the car trying not to cry and piss my pants. today, 7 years later, i submit my background test, ua etc.. to apply for nursing school, not even thnking about it, comes back with charges on my record. what can i do? it was supposed to be expunged/sealed/completely off my record 2 years ago. long story short/tldr; got arrested for misdemeanor 7 years ago local judicial system told me it would be completely expunged in 5 years.. on my record still, scared i wont get into nursing school now
