  1. Thanks so much everyone! I decided to go for it. We will see!
  2. I’m thinking about applying for a high school nurse position. I am currently a nurse at an intermediate school and I love it but wanting something closer to home. Has anyone switched from intermediate to high school? Did you like it or do you wish you would have stayed at intermediate? If so anything in particular that you like or don’t like? Thanks!!!
  3. My exclusion day was today!!! I only need 5 more to be in compliance! I sent home 3 and 2 were absent so we will see. The exclusion date really did work! I am celebrating when I am compliant lol!
  4. Thank you so much for the replies! I talked to my principal and we have set an exclusion date. I just feel like 30 students is a lot to exclude. I am sure I will have some mad parents but I have notified them multiple times.
  5. Hi everyone! This is my first year in school nursing. I am feeling very defeated with immunization compliance. I still have 35 non-compliant students. The due date for our immunization report is October 20th. I have done a call out in September. Sent a letter to the student's home. After that, I called each parent (if they didn't answer, I sent an e-mail). This week, I called the students in my office and gave them a copy of their record and told them which ones they need and when they need it by to stay enrolled in school. Is there anything else I can do? I feel like nothing is working. Thanks!!!
  6. Thank y'all so much! Of course I know about the Wednesdays wear pink lol!
  7. Hi everyone!!! I have been reading practically every post in the school nurse discussion board. I just received a job offer for a middle school nurse position for the 2017-2018 school year! I have been trying to get a school nurse position for a while now and I am so excited that I finally received an offer! I am currently a nurse sub for the school district that I will be working for. My question is: can I do anything from now until August to help my year go as smooth as possible? I am going to read "School Nursing: A Comprehensive Text". Any other suggestions for me? Any specific pointers for middle school? Thanks so much!
