  1. Hey guys! I just started following this forum. If I understand correctly, the deadline for applications was in February and most of you are still waiting to receive award letters? For those of you that applied, were you in nursing school or finished and graduated? Any advice on when you should apply for someone in nursing school? Thanks for the clarification
  2. So my Credit Karma updated today and I did not get a credit check. I also checked my Experian and Equifax. I am upset and disappointed.....
  3. No not really since we are all waiting to hear from them with a possible credit check. So far no one has received one. This is a little unusual since this is later than their past few years timeframe....
  4. My Credit Karma last updated on the 12th so I am waiting for it to update again. But I have the credit monitoring on so if there is a change I would get a notification on my phone. Anyone else had a credit check lately?
  5. None other than the various "please join our virtual job fair" email. Its crazy because every time I see those emails I get nervous and excited and disappointed.
  6. Good question. I am not sure...
  7. I agree with FutureNurseEmilyP198. I am going to go by the dates from previous threads and keep checking Credit Karma.
  8. Ok so I just called and spoke to a guy named Joel. He was unsure of the answers he was giving me. He stated that the credit checks, awards and review of applications are happing all at the same time. I was like how is that possible? I told him I though this whole process happened in phases: review of applications, credit checks, and then awards? I asked him was this a new process to do everything all at once and of course he was unsure. I asked him when was the deadline to have all application score cards submitted and he stated I should be notified by Sept 30. That's not what I asked u! He could not answer because he did not know. He did check the status of my application and said it's being reviewed. If it's being reviewed the how can they dispense award letters? This is a prime example of how unreliable their customer service phone representatives are. And of course this is so frustrating!!!!!!!
  9. I am trying not to check my credit report too much because Credit Karma only updates so often. I also signed up for another credit monitoring site. I am hoping to get an alert with a new inquiry soon.
  10. I am starting to worry as well....
  11. I just checked my credit karma yesterday and nothing. So hopefully soon. (fingers crossed)
  12. Did you apply for NCSP or Nurse Corps? Don't give up! You still have a chance. Be optimistic and positive. Keep the faith please. Good Luck and please keep us updated!
  13. I would think it would be too soon for credit inquiries. Looking at the past threads most started noticing inquiries in July. You can't think of any other reason why you would have an inquiry? I'm not saying it's impossible, I just believe it's too soon. The past threads also stated to look for "CREDCO" as the inquiry. My Credit Karma does not update for another week and my application still states "under review." Please keep us updated. Fingers crossed.
  14. This is so disheartening....I'm speechless:arghh:
  15. Yeah, looking at past threads, activity starts to pick back up around the first or second week of July when people started noticing a credit inquiry on their credit report. I'm just praying and keeping my fingers crossed. I'm checking daily as well though lol.
  16. Hey EBordoley, I am not sure if it disqualify you but it may slow down the processing of your application. My advice would be to call HRSA tomorrow to verify this info. Btw there is a thread for the 2017-2018 application season. Here is the link if you would like to follow: https://allnurses.com/online-nursing-schools/nurse-corps-scholarship-1093243.html Good Luck!
  17. ....and patiently, anxiously waiting....
  18. Wow this is such a powerful story. This is a prime example of the representation of frustration many face with the health care system. My heart breaks for all this nurse has been through. I pray for a continued recovery as well.
  19. Yes! I included my applicant ID and first initial and last name on ALL my documents and essays. I used single spacing. I didn't want the spacing to use extra characters. I didn't want to go over the 5k mark. And just FYI, once You submit the application You can still access it anytime before the deadline to make changes. You just have to remember to resubmit it again. @agirl2014-I didn't use any outside articles. The essays should discuss your personal experience and reasoning pertaining to the topic. Each of my essays were around 200 words.
  20. Application finally submitted! Now it's the waiting game! Anyone else submitted theirs yet? Good Luck to you all!!!!!
  21. You can apply to both and increase your chances. Take a look at this link. It may help you understand the difference and similarities of both. Good luck! https://nhsc.hrsa.gov/scholarships/scholarshipsfornurses.pdf
  22. My essays are about half a page and around 200 words. The info says the MAX number of characters is 5000. So I am assuming less is acceptable. Microsoft words gives the word count and character count. I plan on submitting my application this weekend. I am in the process of writing my last essay. FYI: I believe once you submit the application you can go back and change or add something. I believe once the deadline pass then you can't access or revise your application.
  23. Ok. Yeah I changed it to 5/31/2019. Thanks embrothers!
  24. Ok. Good. I am happy they are being consistent with the info. And you fill out yours how I filled out mines except for the year two end date. I put 6/30/2019 instead of 5/31/2019. My projected graduation date is May of 2019. I wonder if I should put 5/31/2019 in those boxes? :down:Thanks for sharing
