  1. It has to be done within 14 days. Good luck!
  2. I got accepted too! Congratulations!!!
  3. The anxiety has definitely kicked in today...i don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight.
  4. I got one too. I really hope that it means we got in! My heart started beating super fast!
  5. Dear Spring 2018 GEM Applicants, As some of you learned at the GEM First Look community service is an integral part of the culture at Rush University and Rush University Medical Center. Through the Rush Community Service Initiatives Program (RCSIP), there is an opportunity for Rush University students, faculty, residents, fellows and staff to use their distinct skills and talents to make a difference in our community and beyond. As a Rush University student RCSIP offers you a chance to support your community, while also honing your health care skills with hands-on experience. A recent study at Rush found that the opportunities available through RCSIP influenced 66% of our current students to choose Rush as their school of choice. Sharon Gates, Senior Director of Community Engagement would like to invite you to learn more about the RCSIP programs and how to become engaged, if accepted to the GEM program. Please see email below. For questions related to this event please contact Sharon at [email protected] Warm Regards, Molly
  6. I can't for this Thursday but it sounds like fun! T-10 days :)
  7. I know how you feel... I'm trying to stay busy but it's hard not to think about it. I might have to take the 6th off work just so I can keep checking my email to see if I got in :)
  8. I didn't ask either lol...I had my interview yesterday and it wasn't super casual or formal. It was in between but it hopefully went well. Wish everyone well and hope that we all get in :) Can't wait for October 6th...
  9. I am!! Really nervous about the interview. I'm excited about the first look, hopefully it'll be informational.
  10. Haha yes definitely more enjoyable during this time of year :)
  11. Good luck to you all! Agnes A is me so feel free to say hi :)
  12. I have mine scheduled for Tuesday as well :) Good luck on the interview and maybe we can meet at the first look.
  13. I'm excited that the First Look is almost here. Who is planning on going? When do you guys have your interviews scheduled for?
  14. Hi Jennyjara92, from what I've read in posts from other cohorts, the first look is pretty casual, jeans and a shirt. Hope that helps. I'm planning on wearing jeans and a nicer shirt. Hopefully that will be good.
  15. I received mine as well! Best of luck to you.
  16. Has anyone received their interview information? I received an email saying I've been invited to interview and to wait until after the deadline to receive an email to schedule the interview. Has anyone scheduled their interview yet or know when they will start reaching out to schedule those?
  17. Thank you FutureNurse518! Congratulations on starting in the Fall. Do you know what your schedule will look like for the first semester? I am volunteering at a local hospital and work with PCT's and RN's so hopefully that will give me some experience, help with the interview and further solidify my decision to do nursing. Congrats again that is so exciting!
  18. Hi, anyone else applied to the Rush GEM program for Spring 2018 yet? I know the deadline isn't until August but I had all of my items completed so I figured why not? Question - does everyone who meets their minimum requirements get invited for the interview or do they actually screen the applicants before they invite them for the interview? I would be curious to know how many people get accepted if they have limited "hands-on" experience. I have all of my pre-reqs completed and my gpa is pretty good 3.8 but I have no experience in the clinical setting. I wonder how experience or lack there of is looked at when in consideration for the program. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
