Also, I'm sure they understand it takes a while to get our test date so I'm sure they're not expecting us to have it right away

Tristar Nurse Residency Summer 2018
@nursehaliz I am in the process right now! One thing I found odd was having my director of the RN program, as well as myself, sign my passport photo. They are so tiny! She signed the back of it. How did you go about doing that?

Tristar Nurse Residency Summer 2018
Thank you so much for answering all of my questions, I really appreciate it!! I am coming from California and we do not have any residency programs like this where I am from, so this style of interviewing is very new to me. I really appreciate all of your help!! :)

Tristar Nurse Residency Summer 2018
What is the interview with the peer leader like? I have never heard of a peer leader so that is new to me. I am shocked to hear that all of the specialty positions are gone. I was told by the recruiter I have been in contact with since last summer that it doesn't matter what time you apply, as long as it is before the deadline they still won't be full because they will not make the final decisions to cut off hiring those positions until the very end. I was not able to apply until April due to some school things I had to get finished first, so I was worried about that being a problem at first. Who said that they are for sure no longer hiring into the specialty tracks?

Tristar Nurse Residency Summer 2018
Hi everyone! So I got an interview scheduled at Centennial, but am not sure how the interview process works. They said there it will be a 2 hour process, and that there will be a 30 min structured interview and then a 30 min peer interview. Can anyone explain how this interview process works? Thanks in advance!

Tristar Nurse Residency Summer 2018
I was told by a recruiter that it did not matter if you applied earlier or not, that the specialty tracks would not be filled before the deadline. Is this a for sure thing???

1.5x pay, and general salary question
Hi everyone!! I am currently in the RN program in California and graduate in May. As soon as I graduate I plan to move to Nashville (I will be taking boards in Tennessee). Here in California, when working 12 hour shifts, after 8 hours we get time and a half from hours 8-12, and anything after 12 is double time. Is that the case in Tennessee as well? Another question, I know I will be getting paid less as an RN in TN, but on average what is the starting salary for a new RN grad in Nashville? I'm trying to compare it to what I would be getting here in California. No matter what, I am still moving as soon as I graduate, I would just like to know what I should expect starting out. Thank you all so much in advance!!!

Student Nurse Externship Resume
Hi everyone! I am currently in my 3rd semester of my RN program and am applying to a few student nurse externship positions. I am not quite sure what is pertinent to include on my resume, do I mention my tasks from school, or what exactly are they looking for on a resume for an application for a student nurse externship position? Sorry if this is a silly question, but I want to make sure I am including everything that should be included, as well as making myself come across as a strong applicant! Thanks in advance! :)

Good Hospitals for New Grad RN
Yes but I am unsure of which hospitals actually hire new grads with an associates degree. Since I am from out of state I am not as familiar with which hospitals will hire ADN RNs. I know where I live now only certain hospitals will, so I am just looking for some advice about which hospitals in Nashville/Hendersonville area that actually do.

Good Hospitals for New Grad RN
Hi everyone! I am currently in an ADN program in California, and will be graduating in May of 2018. I plan to move to Nashville/Hendersonville area after graduating. What are some good hospitals that you would recommend for a new grad RN with an associates degree? I have looked at Tristar Children's Hospital residency program and am very interested in that, I just do not know how likely they are to hire RNs with an ADN rather than a BSN. (I plan to start my RN-BSN program immediately after graduating next May as well). Thanks in advance for all of the advice! Since I will be moving from out of state it is hard to know which hospitals I should be looking at. I am currently in Nashville area visiting until the end of June, so I am going to visit any hospitals that are recommended by everyone! I would love to talk to someone at the hospitals before leaving back to California in a few weeks.

Online RN to BSN while living in Tennessee
I see that you have your DNP, that is my goal as well! I have heard that many DNP programs don't accept students who graduated from WGU since they do not give an actual grade, do you know if that is true?

Online RN to BSN while living in Tennessee
Hi! I am currently in an ADN program in California right now, but I am planning to move to Tennessee after I graduate from my program in May of 2018. I am trying to find online RN to BSN programs that I can attend while living in Tennessee. I have been looking into Tennessee State University's online RN to BSN program but I saw that you have to start in Summer. I am just worried that if I do not take my NCLEX until late June or July (since I won't graduate until the end of May), that it will be too late for me to start their summer program next May. If anyone has any information on that program I would appreciate it so much!!! Also, please send some advice over about ANY online RN to BSN program that you would recommend that I could attend while living in Tennessee. I am having such a hard time trying to figure this out, I could use all the help I can get! I will be in Tennessee for basically the whole month of June this year, so if I needed to go check out a school or talk to any of the advisors in person I would be able to do that. Please let me know of anything that may help me in this search!! Thank you all in advance!!!!

Looking for RN-BSN program in Tennessee
Hi everyone! I am currently in an ADN program in California right now, graduating May 2018. When I graduate I plan on moving to Nashville/Hendersonville area. I need advice on some RN-BSN programs in Tennessee. Anything would be helpful! It's so hard to find good info on some of the school websites. I am heading out there at the end of May all the way through the end of June, so I would love to visit some schools and talk to them in person when I'm there. Any advice/tips are greatly appreciated! Since I am coming from out of state, things are so different than what we have here (classes, requirements, etc.) and since I am not from there, I have no idea what is considered a good school, and which ones I should steer clear from. I have been looking at Tennessee state university but I saw that you have to start in the summer. If I graduate in May, by the time I take my TEAS it may be too late for me to start with them, and I really don't want to have to wait a whole extra year to start. So if anyone has anymore info on that school, or any other RN-BSN program you recommend, I appreciate it more than you know!!! I'm trying to get stuff set up ASAP so I can visit the schools when I'm out there in about a month!! Thank you all in advance!

Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Program
0Hello! I am in my ASN program in California right now but plan on moving to Tennessee after I graduate and take my NCLEX May of 2018. I would love to work at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in their Nurse Residency Program. I was just wondering if anyone knows how possible that is coming as a new RN from California. Do they typically only take Vanderbilt graduates, or would they consider me? I should add I am applying for a Nurse Exeternship position at Valley Children's Hospital (a very well respected children's hospital near where I live now) when this semester is over. So I should have experience working as a pediatric nurse extern before applying to Vanderbilt Children's hospital as a new RN. Any help would be appreciated!! Thank you all in advance

Help...looking for advice on RN to BSN online programs
Thank you for your response! I have had many people tell me about Western Governors University, but I am not able to do that program since they are on a pass/fail grading system and I plan to get my DNP after this. The DNP programs do not accept transcripts from a school with a pass/fail grading system rather than a letter grade. Did you enjoy Excelsior's RN-BSN program, and have you had any issues getting a job with a degree from that college? (I only ask that questions because I have had many people tell me it is hard to get a job with a degree from an online school, but I find that hard to believe with how advanced and common online programs are now).

Help...looking for advice on RN to BSN online programs
Hi everyone! I graduate my ADN program in California in May of 2018. I would like to start my RN-BSN program right away in the Fall of 2018. I plan on moving to Nashville as soon as possible after I take my state boards and am asking for any advice on ONLINE RN-BSN programs that I can take (preferably without crazy tuition prices) while making my transition from California to Nashville (so I won't technically be considered a resident of Tennessee at that point). I honestly don't care what state the school is in, I just need it to be accredited, fully online so I can take the courses while I am moving, and would like it to be 12 months or so in length. There are so many schools so I am just trying to look for help in narrowing my options down. Thanks in advance!!!!

Nursing Diagnosis Help for postpartum patient
Hi everyone! I am making a care plan for a postpartum patient, and the mother I am making the care plan for is one that all of the staff is worried about. For instance, she showed no interest in holding her baby, did not want to perform any feedings, diaper changes, burping, skin to skin, breastfeeding, etc. She complained about her baby not being cooperative (baby and cooperative don't even go in the same sentence haha), constantly called her newborn a "brat" (her exact words). She also complained about how the baby is keeping her up all night, and that she thinks her baby is keeping her up more than a normal baby should. She is young, 23 years old, and has a high school level of education. Her and her husband did lots of research during her pregnancy and had this idea that their newborn would be a perfect, cooperative baby, and that nothing would change in their daily routines after having this baby. What would be a good nursing diagnosis for this patient? (In relation to all of this information)
