New jobs leaves me feeling incompetent and nonconfident
I have tried to like the ED but I don't think I fit in with the people and the vibe at the new hospital. It's very very clicky. I'm still a fairly new nurse so the fact that they just throw me into things I'm not comfortable with scared me. And the trauma on Saturday my preceptor was there but wasn't giving me direction just observing. She then followed this by talking to the CN and saying it was a train wreck. There doesn't seem to be a systematic way for orientation.. I will say I miss my old hospital and my coworkers, not exactly the job itself, it wasn't terrible but not something I wanna do forever. I'm just upset and shook up.

New jobs leaves me feeling incompetent and nonconfident
Hey all, just writing because I'm frustrated. I've been a nurse for a year now and i recently moved to a new area and started a job in the ED. I previously worked on a very busy hospital WV on a stroke/neuro unit. The new job I took was a job in the ED thinking i would like it. Well... I was wrong so far I hate it... I've lost all my confidence as a nurse and my preceptor makes me feel so incompetent. Saturday I got thrown into a trauma with no direction and help. Basically left to drown. I just feel like I don't have enough experience to be in this department. At my previous job I was so confident in my nursing abilities and everyone looked to me for advice. I'm not sure what to do but I'm sick of leaving work crying and regretting my decision... what's a girl to do?

Working out and Nursing..
Hi all, just wanted some input and suggestions about how y'all work 12 hour shifts and still manage to get your work outs in? I've recently gained some weight that I lost back.. I should mention I'm a new grad and found it so much easier to find time to workout while I was in school then when I'm an actual nurse and have more free time. Any suggestions welcomed

New Grad OR Nurse Feeling Alone and Unsupported
I've recently graduated and took a position as a circulator and I couldn't agree more with this post. I've been working for 8 weeks now and I'm considering switching areas because I hate my job. I feel like my nursing degree is a waste for this position because I feel like I open supplies pick up and position the patient chart and clean. Turn over times are a focus at our hospital and I don't think I'm cut out for feeling like everyone's *****

Just started in the OR... wondering if it's for me. Opinions?!
Hi all! So my backstory... I just graduated in May nclex first week of June and started work first week of July. I've never questioned actually being a nurse before but I am currently. I took a job as a circulating nurse in the OR. I thought I would like it because I find surgery so interesting but the further I get into orientation I really question my decision. I feel like all I am is a gopher and I'm going to lose all of my nursing skills. I rarely touch meds, my hospital is focused on turnover times so it's get in get out clean and get back to it. I don't feel like a RN at all... I'm not sure if this is coming from being a new grad or if my fears are legitament. My family doesn't understand because no one else is in the medical field and wanted some opinions. Anything would be appreciated

GN hired as a Circulation RN any advice on what to look at prior to starting?
Hi there! I just got hired for my first nursing position in the OR at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown West Virginia! I'm so excited to start but I have 6 weeks until then. Any advice on things to look at or study until I start? I mean I obviously have NCLEX to study for but in case I find free time to look at other material. Thank you in advance!
