It sounds like you are doing everything right in this case. If Hospital A does wind up requiring a two year commitment from you, explain your situation to them. Tell them why you chose them over other organizations and see if they are willing to match it. If not, then I see nothing wrong with moving over to Hospital B. I don't even see it as a loyalty thing since you have not even started working there. They may not like it, but employment is a two-way street and both parties should be happy with the end result. Speaking of adversarial tones... To address mursewanabe's concern- talk to the staff member and explain your situation. Sometimes we're told to do things a certain way because that's how it's always been done or that's how instructors prefer we do them. If you can explain your line of thinking and demonstrate your abilities, they may have no issue with you assessing in whatever way is good for you *and* gets the job done.

I just recently tested for the second time on the 3rd. My first attempt was 265 questions and this last attempt was 265 questions again. I feel your pain; I had walked out feeling utterly defeated. I got my quick results back today, though, and found out I passed! It can be done, dadrm2001. Sending positive vibes your way.

Well, I didn't get any input or feedback, but I tested on the 3rd. This was my second go around (first was 265 questions) and I got 265 questions again. I walked out feeling defeated and couldn't figure out how, after months of studying, I was still "questionable." I got my quick results back this afternoon and found out I passed. In my head I don't feel like I deserved it, but if they gave it to me, I must!

I need a bit of advice, fellow nurses (and aspiring nurses). I've been using UWorld for almost three weeks now and have gone through about 1600 questions. My average on the Qbank is 56% putting me in the 68th percentile. My first assessment test taken two weeks ago was a 56% (37th percentile) and I took a second assessment test today with a 52% (33rd percentile). I waited to take the second until today because my NCLEX is tomorrow and I wanted to see how far I had progressed. At this point, I'm confused. I was progressing really well with the Qbank questions, but I've scored lower on my second assessment test. I know everyone has harped on not focusing on the numbers, but I can't help but wonder if I'm truly ready if I've gotten borderline twice (even after weeks of studying and "improving"). Has anyone taken the asssessment tests with a borderline result and passed? If so, what were your numbers (Qbank, assessment, and then NCLEX). I'm trying to stay positive, but the numbers are a little frustrating. Input?
