I was recently accepted to both a FNP DNP program and an AGNP (primary care) DNP program. I was initially heart set on the AGNP program. Its a top program in my current city and is financially manageable ($30K total). I recently spoke with an NP i work with and she was adamant that FNP was the way I HAD to go because it is more marketable and I would have a hard time finding a job in primary care with my AGNP. I don't have experience working with kids and wouldn't say my passion lies within pediatrics. The FNP program is considerably more expensive ($75K total). I would like opinions on if the FNP is worth the extra money? Or if i will be just as marketable as a AGNP. Thanks!
