  1. That’s great news!
  2. I applied to both days and evenings but I applied really late as well so I assumed I would be pushed to fall since they seem to always be at least a semester behind. I’m just not willing to wait 2 semesters. That’s too long. They should at least communicate in a timely manner and let the others know where they stand.
  3. When did you apply?
  4. I will as well... I need to keep my options open.
  5. I understand. I was thinking the same too. I just don’t want to wait another semester to a year longer. Who knows how long it could be.
  6. I haven’t received anything either. I applied late but was really hoping to still get in. For the ones that are still waiting, when did you all apply?
  7. I surely hope not because that is a long time to wait. Almost a year.?
  8. Still waiting as well!?
  9. Haven’t received anything either.
  10. Hi! I applied a few weeks ago and I got an email stating that I was being considered for Summer 2019.
  11. I tried calling the other day, and they wouldn't disclose that information. Not sure why it's so top secret. The timeframes the evening classes are offered really help in deciding which program you choose to apply for. If you find out, please let me know. I'm hoping to apply for summer term.
  12. I will look into it. Thank you.
  13. Thank you for your response! I'm still going to have to take biology no matter what because the school that I am attending requires it in order to be accepted into their nursing program. I may be able to get around it by taking micro and nutrition together at another community college this summer, and then take biology in the fall. Do you think that it would be too challenging to take general biology, microbiology, and nutrition during at the same time this summer? That way I would be done. Just don't want to overwhelm myself. I also work a full time job.
  14. Hello everyone, I'm working on my last 3 pre-reqs before I can enter into a nursing program. This will be my second degree. I have a 6 yr old daughter. I'm looking forward to a career change and ready to sacrifice for it, as I know it will be worth it in the end. I'm looking forward to going through this journey and getting to know you all. What state is everyone from?
  15. The next class starts in May and runs through August. So technically, I wouldn't be unable to take any other classes other than that one. There is not an opportunity to start before hand. It's a 200 level class (general biology). Non of the bio classes here are offered online. Not sure why, at least not during the summer term.
  16. Yes, there are a few community colleges in my area that offer these classes during the summer term. I could probably take nutrition and biology at the community college together and try to transfer the classes back to my current school. I was thinking about the consequences if any, there could possibly be for doing it. Not sure how that all works.
  17. The schools is my area have Biology as full term for the summer session. So it will run through summer I and summer II (from May to August). I thought about that, and it would've worked out perfectly had biology not have been a full term summer class.
  18. Ok, thanks for the advice. I'm in FL.
  19. I was able to bypass originally because I took A&P1 while working on my first degree, I guess at that time biology wasn't a pre-req, it has been many years. Then after I graduated with my BS degree, I went to a community college that same yr and took A&P2. The nursing advisor at my current school stated that she spoke to the chair in the science division and my request was denied because I needed biology as a foundation for micro and nutrition. To me it makes no sense. I'm trying to figure out a way to get these classes done this summer. So I was wondering if I can attend a CC and have those credits sent to my current school, since my current school won't allow me to take them together?
  20. If I were you, I would probably try and take the NCLEX once more and pray that you pass. The bigger question is, do you think that you learned the fundamentals/skills of being a nurse at that school? If you feel that they didn't properly prepare you, I would go ahead apply for another program. Also, not sure how difficult it would be for you to get hired as a nurse from a non accredited school. Thats something to look into if you haven't already.
  21. It probably isn't approved, thats how they have the system set up. My thought behind it is, I have taken higher caliber classes such as AP1 and AP2 years ago therefore I should be able to take biology combined with nutrition since biology is like going backwards in my opinion.
  22. Hello everyone. I am greatly needing some advice. I only have 3 classes left to take before I can apply into the nursing program at my school. The classes are nutrition with diet therapy, microbiology, and general biology. To give you a little background about my education, I already have a previous BS degree in another field which I obtained years ago. I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a nurse. My goal would be to take these classes this summer, so that I will be eligible to apply into the program for spring 18'. My issue is, biology is a pre-req for nutrition and micro. I want to take biology and nutrition together this upcoming summer term,(which I can't being that biology is a pre req for the other classes). Then take micro in the fall (I can't have two classes pending when I apply into the program, you can only have one pending class). Soo, if I can't take two classes this summer I won't be eligible to apply in the fall for spring term, which could postpone my dream for one entire yr, all for one class!!! Is it possible to take multiple classes at two community colleges in order to get these last 3 classes completed??!? Thanks so much for your help!!
