New CNA and nervous!!
- CAN BULLYING
Hi! My job has gotten so much better! I have been working overtime like crazy. The reason so I could get to know my fellow CNA team. I started being "Johnny on the spot", taking hours that other girls were asked to do or mandated. I would take them for them. Just to show I care and I am here for the long haul. I help with transfers, and make sure I check on the girl's on my hall assignment across from me. I am not kissing up, but merely saying to them through my actions that I am dependable and I am here. It has worked, I have made friends at work, we laugh and tease each other Showing that your a hard worker and you can go the distance matters! There are still some of the other CNA 'SO that don't have a lot to say, but I chalk it up to that's there thing I am polite even if I say hi and they don't answer. I have had to learn at 46 not to personalize things. I love my job!- CAN BULLYING
This is what they did. I had a beautiful day at work.- CAN BULLYING
Please help.. Need good advice. I am a compassionate and caring person. I am a new CNA I AM FINDING THAT BEING NICE AND DOING HARD WORK IS NOT ENOUGH EVERYONE AT THE NEW FACILITY IN WHICH I WORK HAS ISSUES WITH ME. I GOT BUSTED FOR DOING A TRANSFER BY MYSELF YESTERDAY. THE LPN ON THE FLOOR AND OTHER TWO CNA ARE NOT HELPING I HAVE GONE TO MANAGEMENT AND THEY ARE SUPPORTIVE OF ME.NTHE OTHER TWO CNA ARE UPSET BECAUSE I ASK FOR HELP AND THEY EXPECT ME TO WAIT WHILE THEY FINISH ALL THEIR CARES BEFORE THEY HELP ME. I HAVE 11 PATIENTS 3 ARE LIFTS. TWO ARE 2 ASSIST COMBATIVE TO THE POINT OF BEING BIT, SCRATCHED, KICKED, IF YOU TRY TO HANDLE THEM. I ask for help and they roll their eyes and get upset. Then the LPN is passed and states I have poor time management. The two on the other side are supposed to help but I spend my time chasing them to help me. I can move pretty fast I don't feel I am slow but spending 3 or 4 minutes waiting for help per all my lifts and 2 assists eats up my day. I left work with a write up for the lift I did by myself yesterday and the LPN saying I was the problem. I am staying strong. I love what I do. But any advice on dealing with these women. I am 46 and I usually get along with everyone. I have never experienced what I am now. I got moved from 2nd shift to 1st shift because I was literally being bullied on 2nd shift. CNA were passing me aggressively in the break room during shift change. One of them yelled at me and I looked at her and said who are you, we are the same. I also confronted two of them that followed me down the hall mocking me. I am not good at taking being bullied. It is bullying when people are trying to haze you. I feel that my best bet is to keep working hard and stand my ground. Management is putting a fl9at on the hall today to help with transfers. P.s. When I have someone else on the other side of the hallway that is neutral. My assignment gets completed. No Problems. - CAN BULLYING
