Well, Im not a novice nurse, Ive been in the ICU for almost 5 years, and my current hourly rate is pretty decent. I would not want to uproot and leave everything behind for a pay cut. Money and location are important to me, the reason why I want to do travel is because of the experience of living in different places where I can pursue some of my interests, and making more money. So I am asking the right questions for myself. Thanks your your input though

I am currently shopping agencies for my first travel assignment ever. One of the agencies just quoted me 1600 gross for Cape Cod. I know the cost of living in the area is rather high. What would be considered a "good" rate for the area? I'm afraid this one agency has been low balling me. They quotes me about the same for New Orleans and NYC.
  3. You'll have a totally different perspective once you become and RN and work on the floor for a bit. Right now everything you're learning is nursing utopia. Our humor is a coping mechanism because without it we'd burn out much sooner.
  4. I'm about to finish the RN-BSN program from there. Initially I chose it because of the "affordability," and short terms. However, I would advised anyone against it. They keep tacking on new courses saying that I haven't "satisfied" the requirements, when I've been using the degree plan my advisor sent me. I'm now having to take an extra class, College Algebra, because they said the advisor didn't apply the transfer credits correctly, and they have "no way controlling what someone else did." Are you kidding me?? This was someone who worked in the Nursing department and you have no way of controlling what they did??? So two months before I'm set to graduate, they tell me this. I've checked my degree plan regularly. Also, they lied about being able to take Nursing Research and the Capstone concurrently. This school will drag you on and on and on, and take your money. You're better off looking elsewhere.
