Exactly... document document document! Have a witness, report to the charge nurse, etc. IT's all about CYA, make sure yours is covered and you'll have no problem. Sounds like they know about this resident and her shenanigans already...

"Yes I put in the request and it's not guaranteed however they know the position I'm in and that needs to be respected as well" Yes, but other employees (people who have been there awhile) may also have child care/family issues to contend with. Who do you think they will accommodate first? A new employee who has had a bunch of absences, or people who have been there and show up when they are expected to? Finish your 2 weeks and cut your losses. Be very clear about what your availability is, and be sure your child care is in order or you'll be back in this mess.
