  1. my unit manager asked, so im thinking its for the unit...what do I write?! LOL!
  2. did anyone get asked for a photo and a bio? im wondering if this is for the group of new hires or for the unit? halp!
  3. congrats! what unit did you get?
  4. I asked Amarik whether it was a good sign to get the email and he said it goes out to every “selected candidate and alternates”. So we could be either.
  5. How do you know that you are an alternate?
  6. I got my reference email about 6 hours after my interview. Can’t believe it. For those who feel discouraged, I know how you feel! I was waitlisted for a year for nursing school and it was tough but I just kept working and trying and that is the only way! One way or another all of us will be working as nurses soon and the right job finds you. What does “alternate” candidate mean?
  7. Hey! Thanks for starting this! I’m interviewing for 4SE/SW oncology.
  8. I received an invitation for the connectivity test, but still havent heard about unit specific interview...
  9. I hope so too! Best of luck!! I have faith that the right job winds up with the right nurse. Hopefully we will both be on the floor soon! ?
  10. I received my email yesterday I believe.
  11. Hi guys! Hoping someone reads this because I know this is an old thread! I am doing the connectivity test for an upcoming cohort. I wondered if anyone would be able to tell me what actually happens during this? is it an interview? What is a connectivity test? I thought it was just to make sure that you are able to log on and for sound and camera check- but it seems like it’s more than that. Any and all information about the interview process would be so appreciated! THANK YOU.
  12. I just requested to be in the group. My FB name is Lizzie OneEightSevenSevenKarsForKids.... i wanted to be anonymous a few years ago after working in an ER, so yeah.... lol
  13. Thank you! I was finishing up an EMT call at a SNF and the whole nursing staff was outside taking pics and I screamed and cried “I just got into nursing school!” And was sobbing and the whole team started clapping. It was amazing! I worked so long and hard for this. I’m familiar with rejection so for those who are looking at this thread and feeling really bad about not getting a call, just know that was me last year and I kept going and here I am.
  14. Guys don’t make yourselves crazy! It might not be on the same day as last year. Every year is different and Dr. Hinoki has a LOT of work to do behind the scenes. Breathe and relax! Last year I obsessively checked this thing and was waitlisted- truly everything happens in its own time. We have until March 29th. ?
  15. Yes - it is a phone call if you get in and waitlist etc emails get sent out a day or so later- or at least that’s what happened last year.
  16. I should mention that I’m still in the pool of applicants at CSULA this year, but I already was rejected from a few schools over the last year and a half. CSULA is and always has been my first choice. So here’s hoping and praying that this is the right time for me.
  17. Hey I’m sorry to hear this- don’t let it get you down- it’s the most competitive thing to get into a nursing program these days. This is my second year of applying- I got a 4.0 in all my prerequisites and was rejected from all schools last year, and even this year. Last year I was waitlisted at CSULA. Dr. Hinoki suggested I do a few things which I will gladly pass on: #1, get clinical experience and #2, get a really good hands on volunteer gig. The TCAB Program at Cedars is specifically designed for pre nursing students. I highly recommend it. They are always accepting new people. The other thing I did was get certified as an EMT and now I work as an EMT in the field. It has helped me immensely as I now have a lot more understanding and practical application of patient care. UCLA has a 4 week accelerated emt program that is HARD AS HECK but will really prepare you - and the sooner you get certified the longer you have to gain experience before next year. Best of luck and like I said, you will keep going and if you put your mind and time into it you’re gonna get there.
  18. I just submitted my cal state apply today- did you guys get a pin and a GET email after submitting your cal state application? Also what is pin and GET?
  19. Has anyone gotten an email about applying to csula yet?
