I have been told that when the police come to your home they question everyone living their if this drug is found (marijuana) in my brothers room. Can I be put in the police record as having knowing that it exists? Keep in mind I have no control over this. I do not participate or are involved in anyway with this activity. I can take a drug test and pass at any time. However my question is that if this is going on in my house will the texas board or nursing question me about this if i file a police report against my brother? I have been told that even if you are not directly involved in an illegal activity they can put regardless "on my licensure that I have to be subjected to drug testing"? As a warning for future employers. My school told me that there was a girl that attended on her vacation break was crossing a boarder check point and in the car a friend posses drugs although not hers and was still repermanded by the texas board of nursing

I need some advice. I'm a potential nursing student living in Texas. Living at my parents home. My situation at home is problematic, I have a older brother that lives at my parents home as well but does marijuana. He is very abusive and has been harassing me for a long time now, but I am just not finacial able to leave. Since my terminally ill father has passed away a little over a year ago things have only gotten worse. I wanted to press charges on my brother several times now, but am afraid that if I do when I do my background check for the texas board of nursing that my name will come up in connection to charges I want to file and make me look bad. Out of fear for my future career I am forced to continue to live in this very difficult situation. Please keep in mind that I am a full time student, I mantain a 3.2 GPA and i also work. I am a good person and have never done anything illegal in my life. If there is anybody that can give me advice I would really appreciate it, I don't know what to do.
