Didn't mean to make the subject line so cryptic, but it encapsulates some questions I have. I'm a Respiratory Therapist, since 1983. Worked with you folks in all sorts of settings, from Trauma, ICU's, Nursing homes, etc. So, my decision to enter the nursing profession is done with eyes wide open to both the joys and frustrations of nursing. My quandry is this...I have enough funds saved to enable me to go to nursing school, for an LPN, on a full time basis. After graduating, I would then hope to enter some sort of "bridge" program if that is the correct term. On the other and, I could attend an ADN course, while working part time in some sort of RT capacity. Time and money are not my greatest allies, mortgage to pay, etc. Can you offer any suggestions. That is, proceed with LPN/Bridge program, or just jump right into the ADN program. Thanks. Appreciate your input.
