As far as I've heard from asking recruiters, they don't have an answer for when we'll know something

I am saying some major prayers that we hear something from L&D in the next 24 hours! I have to let a med/surg position know an official yes or no by tomorrow at noon, but Parkland is where I reallllyyyyyyy want to be!! Fingers crossed!! :)

Texas Health Resources July 2018 GN Residency
I had three interviews last week at different THR units. 2 of the 3 only are taking one resident, and that's for med/Surg floors. Although I live in the dallas area permanently, I go to University out of state (at an excellent school, but out of state none the less) and never worked as a tech. I have not heard back from any of them yet. DFW is in fact much more competitive than I anticipated. Giving it my all to stay positive!!!!

Parkland Dallas Summer 2018 Graduate Nurse Residency
Just applied L&D! I have no tech experience, but I am graduating with my BSN in May. I haven't had great luck with other L&D positions at the other bigger hospitals, so I really have my fingers crossed!!! It's stressful not having a job yet when so many people around you do Anyone else agree? lol

Texas Health Resources July 2018 GN Residency
I have applied to Baylor! I did my video interview this past Friday! And I went to their expo. I just have friends who have already heard things, and my original application was Women's, so I don't know if I'll be on the radar. I made med/Surg clear in my video

Texas Health Resources July 2018 GN Residency
What's the recruiters informarion? I have tried calling before and they told me I was not allowed to contact them without them contacting me. Gosh, I'm so discouraged. I've been having such unfortunate luck with this whole job process I do not understand why.

I applied for Med/Surg to Plano, Denton, & Fort Worth. I submit my application the day it opened!! And sent my preference form back within 20 min of getting that email! (I have good grades at an accrediated BSN program so I don't get it)

Texas Health Resources July 2018 GN Residency
All of mine say considering.... is that bad? I applied Med/Surg hoping to hear something, as going women's has given me unfortunate luck I really want a residency! It's so hard to get a job as a new grad in Dallas without one!! Does anyone else's say considering?

Personal Professional Plan Help
Hi! I need some help on making a personal goal SMART (specific, attainable, realistic, time sensitive) I'm in my second semester, which is my Med/Surg clinical. So my personal goal is to become more confident during interactions, because frankly, I'm still working on getting over some shyness. For activities I have (and I only need 2): Perform discharge education at least once a shift Perform as much patient care as possible without help of the nurse. But the next column is standards. The standard is what guides or provides the knowledge/information to do something correctly. It is what sets the "standard" for the specific skill or task. She wants us to write how we're going to prove that we are progressing toward your goal. So what do you guys think? What are some good ways to measure this, besides obviously, just feeling more confident. Should I re-word this goal to make it more concrete? Or decide on a new goal altogether? Thanks so much

Transferring Mid-Nursing school
Hey I am currently working on my J2 semester. I succeed in school and have very high grades, however other circumstances are allowing me to seriously consider transferring. I go to school 5 hours away from home and out of state, and I sincerely am considering transferring home. However, since I'm in the middle of actually nursing school part of a BSN program (as opposed to the pre-nursing) would it be worth transferring? Does anyone know if universities would allow me to continue as an S1 in the fall, or would I have to retake some courses? I would rather stick out 3 more semesters than have to start all the way over with my nursing school experience. I hope that makes sense. Thanks!
