Welcome to the ER. Lol. Chill. When I worked on the ambulance we used to take girls back to our station and spend the night. We'd take them home in the morning. They would keep the bed warm when we ran calls in the middle of the night. Good times.

We usually run Z 3.375 over 4 hours. Apparently EBP says better therapeutic levels/effectiveness when infused slow. Calculated that one in your head. 15 into 60 = 4 x 50 mL = 200 mL/hr. Or are you asking how to write it out?? You already have the answer. Just asking.

It's not dog eat dog. You have to pass muster though - especially in clinical. If you are having a tough time with the hands on patient care, or you hide every time the instructor comes around, you will attract attention. Be assertive and ask questions in clinical. Volunteer to go the extra mile. Challenge yourself. Tell the clinical instructor you want extra IV practice, for example. Talk pathophysiology with the instructor. Ask to do extra rotations in the ER or ICU if you can. I did all of the above, and after time, my clinical instructors rarely checked up on me during clinical. They loved it. Critical thinking and being pro-active will really help you bring it home. Being a guy helps sometimes, as well

Seriously, brother, don't waste your time going from zero to BSN. Go to a cheap community college, and get it done. Pass the NCLEX. Then work, get some experience, and do your BSN online like I did. BSN is a boring waste of time, but hospitals "prefer" you to have one. Come to California! Tons of jobs here. Or travel nurse. I put up a resume on Indeed and got ten replies for travel jobs in one day. I'm divorced and have no kids though. I feel like the world is mine. Time to see it firsthand. Just my opinionated opinion :)
