For those who want to be USRN's you better show something that would make the employers/sponsors/agencies like you. Like probably someone who has a good score on the IELTS/TOEFL or with a CGFNS certificate (some hospitals only require the certificate and not the CES pathway), with the CGFNS certificate you have more States to apply to. It is also a plus if you have years of experience or if you have a Master's Degree.

UWORLD truly is the best hands down.. How many month did you go into UWORLD and how often or rather, how many questions a day ? I am planning to take UWORLD too but as I am an international nurse, it is a bit expensive for me but I know it is worth it.

I contacted the TN-BON Since I said that I am an international graduate nurse applying for initial application for NCLEX, they told me that they would only give the exam packet once I have the CGFNS Certificate. Now I have to undergo the CGFNS Qualifying exam PLUS the IELTS... This sucks... another mountain again for me to overcome.... I chose TN because the friend of my mom, who is a nurse in the US, would be the one who would handle and sponsor me to be a RN. This friend also told me, it's also "who you know" that's important to get a job as a nurse. Ugh... time to study for that Qualifying CGFNS exam..

Does anybody know Tennessee-BON's requirements for initial application for international nurse graduates ? The pdf in their official website does not state anything for international/foreign nurse graduates. Specifically if a SSN is absolutely needed to have to take the NCLEX or for licensure. Specifically if a Cgfns CES (professional report) or Certification Program is needed. English verification if by IELTS/TOEFL OR a verfication that English is the medium of instruction like in Florida-BON. Can't find a form for international nurses.
