Hello all, I am currently a student at a community college and have 40 credits towards my associates in nursing. I am also currently working for Starbucks whom offers free college to employees via online courses with ASU. I applied and registered for ASU and was just recently accepted. The counselor had previously told me that it did not matter that I had not obtained my associates yet but could finish it with ASU and then obtain my BSN. Now that I have been accepted though she is telling me that I cannot work towards my BSN with their starbucks program unless I already have my associates in nursing with a previous school. She did however say that I can obtain my Bachelor's in Health Sciences. I am recently a navy spouse and will be moving from California to Chicago in two weeks, and then moving out of Chicago in only a year. I am not sure if it would even be possible for me to do a nursing program over the next six years of military life. Would it be best for me to hold off on ASU and try to obtain my associates in nursing by bouncing around schools, or is it possible for me to obtain my bachelor's in health sciences and then after the military join an rn program? This fall I am also signed up for phlebotomy courses at a community college in Chicago, and will be working as a phlebotomist during school over the next few years.

I will be doing the CNA program and starting my bachelor's so that I can start working in the hospital while I am waiting to get into the RN program. The list is a 2-3 years wait at all the local schools here in California. I will most likely do the LVN program as well for the extra experience and knowledge.

Hi all, I am currently just finishing my associates in nursing and will be starting the CNA program at a local college this fall. I have recently been extremely interested in becoming a nurse for the navy. So to start off I have a few questions, First, what exactly is required in order to become a navy nurse? I understand I need my bachelors in nursing, but will I need to go to a bootcamp? Will I have needed to serve prior to becoming a nurse for the navy? Secondly, is deployment required or can I work on specific base hospitals? My fiance will be enlisting for the navy in the spring of 2018 after we are married and after he finishes his associates degree. I was curious as to if I could work in the hospitals on the bases to where we are stationed or if I will have to be deployed as well. Obviously if we are both being deployed to different areas, marriage would be extremely difficult as we would most likely never see each other. My last question is what are the different contract options for navy nurses? Is it only four active years and four inactive? Thank you!
