It was one on one! Small time spent with director, educator gave me a tour, as well as the manager. I was only asked a few questions by the director and the rest was receiving information about the residency and the unit in particular. I received a call for a 4 hour shadowing experience the next day. I'm sure every floor does this differently though!

hi everyone!! late to the thread, but I interviewed for NICU June 19 and shadowed June 27. External candidates interviewed first and internal candidates got interviewed yesterday is what I was told. They said I should hear back earliest today! They said August is the most competitive so don't be discouraged if you did not recieve an interview and apply for the October start date!

Mine displayed an error two days ago as well, but it fixed itself in a day! I wouldn't worry too much.

Hey! @wannabe3 From what I've heard from past nurses who got the externship, Mayo definitely looks beyond your GPA. So I would most definitely apply! The worst that will happen is you won't get it, but you won't know until you try, right? My GPA isn't great either, but it sounds like we both have a passion for nursing and have extracurriculars to back us up. Best of luck :)

What is everyone thinking of doing in terms of housing? Dorms or apartments nearby?

Hey! thanks for the reply Honestly, I've never been interviewed before so I am super duper nervous too! I totally feel you. But we're going to have to go through this when we're applying for nursing jobs later on in life, so might as well get used to it now right? Be yourself and relay your passion toward our line work.
