  1. GREAT advice! I have 3 small children as well and have always been a stay at home mom. My husband and I will be switching roles with him becoming the stay at home dad/semi-retired,(we're both 46) and I'm starting a new career. Our life should get pretty interesting! Haha! I agree so much about the classmate support system and getting assignments done asap! Good luck in school!! Update as you go along and enjoy the experience!
  2. AMAZING!!! INSPIRING!!! Thank you so much! I met a NP that said she made a career change from teaching to RN when she was 50 because "teaching wasn't for her". What an inspiration to know others in mid-forties and 50's that went on to further their career in such a dynamic and accomplished way! Love it!!
  3. Excellent advice and insight! Thank you so much!!
  4. Good for you!!! GO FOR IT!!
  5. Same here!! I cant wait yet the closer the first day gets the more nervous i get! It's going to be a wild ride but worth it! I just have to come to terms with the fact that my house will not stay clean with me in school, and 3 kids from 12- 2.5 being kids! Let it go...let it go....
  6. Thanks!! I've heard "stories" of how intense the schooling is! It's making me a little pumped to think about it though! It seems like it's going to be an intense ride!!
  7. YAY!!! We should keep in touch a little :-) Support a little, you know? I have a doozy-up on you and those teens...I have a preteen (12 y.o girl), 8 year old (stereotypical middle child and a girl), and a......2.5 year old! WOW, right?! I was obviously not starting menopause, but i do have a gorgeous little boy now! GOOD LUCK! I'm excited along with you! I mean, it's never too late until you die, right?! I met a nurse practictioner who told me that she went back to school at 50 to become a nurse, now she's an NP and is still going strong in her career. I'm so happy to have met her! She's an inspiration!
  8. I'm a 46 year old motjer to 3 young children and am starting PN school in the fall. I'm just curious if any of you are beginning your nursing career late in life as well.
