  1. Hello all, I'm a Canadian RN who works exclusively in psych looking to get some experience in the states. Also, career prospects seem to be much more broad. Which state would in your opinion is the best for psych nurses terms of pay and work environment? Any advice would helpful. Thanks
  2. Hey guys...looking for some help. I was hired as a new graduate on a medicine unit, PRN. I did my consolidation there so I'm pretty comfortable so far. But, lately I feel like management is pressuring me to work more. My facility also has no minimum hours for a PRN employee but Im there 1-3 times a week. I almost never accept shifts when they call me. I personally like working PRN it gives me lots of flexibility. How should I handle this?
  3. Upgrade your marks. I would say a 3.5 is achievable if you put your mind to it. Psych nursing is a awesome field to go into with lots of opportunities and great pay.
  4. I don't think you're eligible for the four year programs if you already have a degree. You could use most of your credits you received in the BSc towards but then you'd mess up residency requirements which universities are strict about. My advice would be to take a few undergraduate courses and bum up your GPA to be competitive for after degree programs.
