Proficient TEAS test??

Published

Hello everyone! I took the TEAS test yesterday, and only got 70 on that ;(. I found out that many questions on the test are not covered in the book... I studied half a year for the test, and I pretty much know everything on the book. I did the two practice tests that in the TEAS Version V study guid, and got 95% on that. I thought I can do great on the test but... I don't know if I should buy the online practice test ( $44) or not. Because the first day I emailed ATI and asked them are the practice tests from ATI website are the same thing in the book, and they said yes. However, I've heard many people said the actual test is similar with online practice test, but it's not similar with the book at all! I feel like the questions in the book are much easier than the actual test! Like the tests in the book are short, but the actual test questions are long, and they're not straight answers. I think the reason is because the tests in the book are "basics", but the actual test is "proficient". Please help, I don't know whether I should take the second chance or not, if I did even worse, I have to wait two more years to retake it. Has anyone bought both the book and online practice test? Are they the same thing or different levels? If they are different, which online practice tests are more similar to actual test, then I will study it and retake it. If they are the same, I'm gonna apply as it's, because I really don't know how to study it since I knew pretty much about the book. Please give me some tips only 30 days to apply the program!! Thanks!

I found the ATI book to be extremely helpful.

I scored a 77.5% my first try (which is only .5% away from Advanced) and I really only used the ATI book to study and this was after not taking any of these classes for about 5 years.

Do you know what form of the test you got? I had form B and it was difficult, but doable. I've been wondering if different forms of the test are harder or easier than others.

Thanks for the reply! Where I can find form A or form B?

You can purchase both off ati site

You can purchase both off ati site

I'm unsure what you mean by that. Form B wasn't a practice test that I bought online, it was an actual test. I don't get to choose what form I take, the school I attend does.

Wcai, same as what I mentioned. The different forms aren't forms of the practice test, they're the actual test that's taken. Generally the testing center you go to will assign the form, but they're different than the practice tests.

Thank you, how do you know what form on your actual test? And there are form A and form B from ATI website, and we can purchase them... I'm confused.

I purchased all of the materials TEAS had to offer. I took the online practice and the book's exams twice each however, the actual TEAS was nothing like any of the practice exams. The science questions covered in-depth material. There was a question about the role of surfactant in the lungs. I scored an 81 and this number is considered high at the school I applied.

Hello. I took the TEAS V for the first time on February 21 and got 81.3%. I purchased both the ATI TEAS V review manual and the practice tests (both versions) online. The version A of the online practice test I scored a 62% which discouraged me completely. The version B of the practice test I received a 70%. In my opinion the ATI online practice tests were harder than the actual test itself, especially the science portion. I scored a 95.8% on the science section on the actual exam but in the practice tests I would fail them. The practice tests at the end of the ATI manual are the most similar to the actual test in my opinion. The science section however, is very general not detailed/complex. The science is easy science, but it is all over the place. There was a total of 48 science questions and I got 11 human body science, 15 life science, 14 earth and physical science and 8 scientific reasoning questions. This might not be the case with the other versions of the test, but just to show you it can be very general.

I would say watch Bozeman science and khan academy on youtube. They have some great science videos. They have everything from chemistry to human body science, a tour of the cell, photosynthesis, cellular respiration and much more. For math I searched TEAS math and saw Keshwani prep and he explains the math section from the manual. If you want additional practice tests I used the 5 TEAS Practice Test book and it gave me more practice.

Good Luck!
